Yes that includes Montana! I won't shortchange anyone when it comes to asking for our Creator's good works! :thumb:

I stopped as we were passing the Central Montana Cemetery in Lewistown yesterday and watched them for a few minutes as they were decorating for it for today. This labor of love occurs at thousands of cemeteries across the country in honor of those who passed before us. It is an awesome act of love on a grand scale that these folks do.

Honour and Respect to all US service personnel. To the ones who made it home and the ones who did not.

In Canada on our Remembrance Day in November we wear a red poppy to show our respect. I am not computer literate enough to paste one on here.

Dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori.

Peace to all troops and may the good Lord bless them each day they are in harms way. As a veteran it does not bother me that people like Justin Hellman make ignorant comments. My grandfathers served to protect the freedoms of all the citizens of this great country. I did as well. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing and unfortunately (or fortunately if you need entertainment) morons like Mr, Hellman continue to embarrass themselves by posting on Facebook, Twitter, etc. If we want to limit freedom of expression in this great country, let's start with the politicians. Left and right have become morons. God Bless America!

We used to wear the red poppies in this country too. I have been in Canada on a couple of Remembrance Days. Nice to see how such an unmilitaristic country celebrates those that they have lost. Apparently when the First World War veterans all died, we stopped giving a fuck. Most of us don't have that day off anymore (Veteran's Day) here anymore.

I believe the red poppies are from a poem by a Canadian about the graves at Flanders field in Belgium following WW I.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

There are probably millions of Tweets about Memorial Day today. Not sure why we have to further publicize the ignorance of a handful of bitter losers. They don't have a voice if they're ignored. Guess everything has to be made political though. Even a day where we should be honoring vets with only gratitude and honor.

God bless all vets. Perished, living and serving. Thanks for your service.

We have solemn occasions like memorial Day because some men with minds like the individual above are cunning enough to rise to positions of power and under rare circumstances can exploit chaos that can fill military cemeteries. Sad that decent people have to come in to clean up the messes that aggressive morons make. What all those white crosses represent is that the power of the best instincts of human nature is far too strong and will always conquer the temporary insanity of the disturbed and the noisy. This is the day for quiet, dignified remembrance and the cause that they gave their lives for - the American way is that to let cretins speak their piece and be seen for who and what they are in the clear light of day, and then to rise above and ignore them. Always remember that freedom of speech carries with it no implicit right to be heard.

A lot of good people worked hard to accomplish this.

I teach history and if I may I am using this in my classes.
