1) JJ comes out unscathed
2) No other major injuries
3) See offensive line growth & development
4) Don't get blown out
5) Win the game

In that order.

You?

Shouldn't the first goal of every game plan be to win the game? If not, why play it? I get you're probably meaning goals from a fans perspective and yeah I'd agree I don't want anyone to get hurt - but that's the case in every game, and unfortunately sometimes injuries happen.

I guess a stab at goals the team can have some direct influence over;

1. Win the game
2. Rush for over 150 yards
3. Pass for over 250 yards
4. No turnovers
5. 85% or better on all fieldgoals and PATs
6. 4 or more sacks
7. Force at least 2 turnovers

Yes, these are MY goals. I could honestly care less whether we actually win. Would I LIKE to win? Sure...but to me that'd be just an added bonus...I'd rather see no major injuries, get a good warm fuzzy about our O-line going forward, and play competitively.

That's just flat out weird.

This is excellant work, SG! I might have used smite instead of crush just for the biblical reference.
its not a biblical reference, its arnold as conan the barbarian. I'm surprised you didnt catch that one ursa. saskgriz has the perfect quote for expectations for saturday's game

I am just surprised that one, somebody referenced that movie and two, remembered anything that Arnold said in it. Consolation prize, name the two Pro athletes that had roles in that movie?
Ben Davidson, but James Earl Jones as Thulsa Doom was the best bad ass! Maybe we could get this on the big screen instead of that stupid sandwich eating thing

Correct. Plus Gerry Lopez pro surfer and North Shore expert(Pipeline).Wilt The Stilt was in in Conan #2.

Weird that my goals might be different than the team's goals?

No, weird that you don't care if you win. To each his own. When the Cats take the field, pretty much the ONLY thing I care about when the clock hits zero is that we have the W. Cue a bunch of griz fans to chirp in about ho often I'm disappointed, blah blah blah

My Saturday goals:

1. Catch a few trout on the Blackfoot.
2. Stop and pick up some ice-cold lager on the way home.
3. Crack open a lager.
4. Watch Griz ruin Craig Bohl's first game at Wyoming. :D

I want to win. I thought I"d made that clear.

What I DON'T want, is a win in which we lose our QB for an extended period of time.

Should we do a poll to see how many Griz fans want to lose the QB for an extended period of time, whether in a win or loss?

Those are my goals for Madden15, all except #5 but my kickers haven't struggled. If an offense can get #'s 2 and 3 while winning the turnover battle they will fare well unless their D really sucks.

I picture him at the game jumping up and down yelling "you're all winners!!!"

I think the point is that it isn't essentially one or the other (winning OR Jordy getting hurt) The stars just need to line up. Is that too much to ask.

I would add "getting laid" to the list, may even put it one above "not missing any extra points" as long as it isn't game deciding. Sorry.

You're f'n shitting me right? Do you know what lies in the heart of a competitor? Some selfish players worry about their stats but EVERYONE wants to WIN the game. I don't know anyone who thinks like this. Why do they run, lift, and train their a$$ off?? What's next?? Let's call NDSU and see if we can take the pads and helmets off and go with 2 handed touch below the waist...   ... :egriz:

So coaches should teach playing to not get hurt nor blown out. Interesting game plans and recruiting propaganda. That's how every kid wants to play. If you win it sounds like an accident. Must be playing the Seahawks. Snacks after the game; then everyone into the minivan....

I hope our players expect to go into Laramie and win tomorrow, despite their fans' apprehensions. NDSU will be a tougher road match-up.

Hear, hear! Kem, SG and AWF nailed it! It's okay to play armchair football analyst all week long but come gameday you gotta believe. Time to get this 13-0 monkey off of our back.

Go Griz!
