As you'd all expect, heading into cat week we've got a marathon pod. It's a big one, best to take in small bites. Former Grizzly D-lineman Tyler Hobbs joins us and he had quite a few great stories. He shares some of his history and memories from his time on the Griz. He also gives his perspective of this Grizzly team and a bit of an outlook for the Brawl. Some beers are consumed by all, we kind of haphazardly get to most questions during the show but attempt to round out ones we missed late.

Links here are web / spotify / apple. I'd hope by now you all know the drill, you can also search "Griz Fan Pod" in your preferred podcasting app as well to find us.

You are gonna be taken to task by someone for not asking this one. Especially since it seems I may have developed a fan base.

"Since it appears that James is the only on the Pod that knows a good french fry this question is for him.

James, where should your Dad take you if you are driving through Portland for a snack ? Clue: Stick a pin in a doll and you will get the answer."

I'll text Mike and ask him 🤣

Hey Brint, you guys should totally set up to stream the Pod Live on like Twitch or YouTube. Would not be very hard to do. Just need good internet and a decent web cam. Hit me up if you're interested. Would be cool to interact live.

We've talked about a few things we want to improve/adapt on for (presumably) next season.

1 - Either some better insight or new equipment for our recording so the audio is more consistent.

2 - A TV / streaming device for better remote interaction and the ability to stream.

It's actually pretty simple. A good laptop would do with a better graphics card than just the standard Intel or AMD built in. A software to stream to YouTube would be OBS. Its a free open source software that allows you to stream directly to YT, Facebook, Twitch, etc. You can create scenes to transition to and from so people can join in and wait until you guys start the actual broadcast. To get the best audio, if your mixer board has an audio out that you can route to the computer then you can all use the same mics, the mixer can be used to adjust all the audio levels live. And you can probably still have it go to the recorder like normal to make a back up copy. And a good quality Logitech webcam can integrate directly into OBS and be used to show everyone. OBS allows you to either take the webcam mic audio or the audio from a mixer board.

Awesome POD this week. Hobbs was a great addition. Luke had a good idea when he talked about wanting to speak to the Cats captains from the 08 game. You guys should consider getting a former player from the team we are playing that week to talk about their experience playing the Griz, especially during Griz/Cat week.

We got word they knew but only shortly before

I'm an audio engineer - can recommend some things. A limiter to stop the overloads during the laughing/yelling, and using a compressor would help level out the audio to a consistent volume. Also some better mics with a pop filter would be good. A Shure SM7B is kind of the industry standard. pair that with some good preamps and you got yourself a nice POD audio set up.
