GETTING THUMPED

Lady Griz can not play against pressure man-to-man. You want evidence you say. Lost to Carla Taylor's pressure "D" in Missoula, struggled mightily against a mediocre Portland State team in Missoula but won. Then ISU switches from zone in Missoula to pressure "D" in Pocatello and Lady Griz fall apart after winning by fifty in Missoula. You x and o guys have answer??? More perimeter screens???? High post passes???

I really don't think it had any thing to do with ISU's D. Montana was forcing up bad shots, off balanced shots and dumb shots. The girls were standing around and not moving to the ball or moving away from the ball to get open. It was like they were waiting for something to happen instead of making something happen. We only scored 6 points in 9:30 minutes in the first part of the second period. There was no transition game at all until we made a run at the 7 minute mark. Then the girls were running to open spots and taking 75% shots and making them. The rest of the game is was like some one told them that isometric exercise was the best thing for them so the nailed there shoes to the floor to get a good work out. 20 minutes a day, three times week. LOL

I am not trying to pick on any one here and I heard that Guardipee has been sick. Most of her shots didn't even get above the rim and she was moving in slow motion. I have seen her play in Missoula and she looked better. I am assuming she is not up to full strength. Conway was really the only one out there hustling she played with a lot of heart to bad it didn’t rub off on the rest of the team, Morales was putting out a good effort to but forced some bad shots.

Well that is my opinion of the game is saw. All I would say to the ISU fans in response was “well at least we have a real basketball stadium”. Actually that was a great place for women’s B-ball in Idaho. I was in the cheap seats and only 15 feet up and 15 feet out from the floor at center court.

Actually that doesn't decide where the tournament is played. If msu beats ISU on Saturday and the LG beat WSU, then Montana will host.

Hopefully we can beat MSU outright on Saturday and not have to worry about that!

Good game tonight nonetheless!

i am not smacking my lady cats when i say this but:

for you not to beat us would mean that the lady bengals pissed off a lot of gods somehow

I heard that because N Arizon lost to E Wash it was already a done deal and ISU was hosting no matter who won and who lost. :crybaby:

ISU clinched the right to host the next week's Big Sky tournament when Northern Arizona lost at Eastern Washington.

I think you may be correct. The LG have won the tournament on the road before, experience is big when it is post season time.

I truly expect to see the Lady Griz roll over Weber. It always seems that when you have a sucky game like that you bounce back big time the next game especially if the games are back to back.

Don't lose hope sports fans the Lady Griz are still alive and well.

I think the Lady Griz will be ok if they learn how to take better shots.

They can't rely on having a "hot" night to beat teams on the road or neutral court. They've got to figure out how to get that shooting percentage up into the 40's every night. They would roll anybody in the league if they start doing that.

PS - The NAU loss didn't clinch anything because the Lady Griz would have swept ISU had they won in Pocatello.

It did with when we didn't show up to play in Poky.

No Shannon Cate on the team this time like the last time Lady Griz won the tournament on the road.
