Get ready for a drawn out process

Hey Kent,

AWF here. How's it going? Did you get my feedback on DOLA and stuff? Awesome! Check is in the mail. Say hey to BH for me.

See you at Red's!

Kyle expects we'll be hearing an announcement soon...

No. "Something" soon. Which Amie beat him to again. Search is ongoing supposedly.

If Kent let Stitt go without having a solid replacement waiting with ink pen in hand, that would concern me. I would expect....."something"....."soon."

What did Amie beat Kyle to today? She got generic quotes from Kent about the process that may be lip service or an attempt to control the story through a young reporter?

Kent is pissed that Skyline broke the story before he was ready.

The athletic department is clueless when it comes to working with the media to put out positive coverage. Instead they try and control everything by limiting media access and it backfires on them. Skyline will almost always churn out positive articles for UM. The same cannot be said for the Missoulian or Lee, yet who are they leaking to and who are they boycotting right now? They shouldn't be doing any favors for the Missoulian or Lee reporters like Rachac, and yet...

I don't know what the answer is but someone really needs to convince the athletic department their approach on this is the complete opposite of what most communications directors would suggest, if they'll listen...

See CDAs post in "Dillon K." He's right in a way. Damn if you do, damn if you don't but there is something to be said for throwing Just a bone. Even if it's just a little one.

The cold shoulder thing just doesn't seem to get us any points with this publication.

Good grief... You guys need to chill out.

Make it sound like hiring a football coach is as easy as saying "you're hired!". Even if the interview went great, Hauck wants the job, and Haslem wants to hire him, there is still a process and contract terms have to be negotiated before an official announcement is made. If the AD were to even hint that he wanted to hire Bobby and those negotiations fell through, then you may hurt your ability to attract other candidates.

Haslam is doing the right thing in keeping the position as open as possible and even solicit other candidates until Hauck accepts terms of the hire. Rushing the process could do more harm than losing a couple days of recruiting...

Those things should have been worked out prior to firing Stitt, especially considering Hauck seems to have been the plan all along. Maybe somethings did fall through? Maybe that is why time is being taken now?

"We're still in that search process and so we're going to continue to search and to talk and to continue with different folks. The search is progressing and I want to make sure we're being thorough."

How many donors will they interview? Anybody know? Only those who've given over a million, or will they search for donors of at least half a million?

Make sure you pay him a ton of money, that way Choate also gets a raise and stays longer in Bozeman!

Wanna bet? Friday...at the latest.

Friday is late if you understand the current structure of recruiting and building a staff to recruit in this critical contact period. The Griz don’t need to be giving any competitors a full week advantage.

Knows the early signing issue, but taking this long (already a week).....not so sure he is the AD that is needed

I agree. There must have been some back up plan. If not, UM is in dire need of a new AD.

Full Stop.

Cupcake! 8-)

Cool, but the Choate-led Bobcats haven't had a winning season.
Losers. Always have been. Always will be.

Whatever...cupcake! Love playing you every year until Jesus comes, because we do in fact play some tough teams! You might try it...OH, no, better not because then you will be in the bottom of the BSC! Oh, wait... sorry... ;)

One year of having a bobcatesque schedule and you are going to tout yours? At least we beat the cupcake teams that we played, whereas... Sounds like you have a nice 20 year plan to fit more californians projected to move to Bozeman into bobcat stadium. I look forward to seeing it some day.
