I believe it was characterized on this board that there was an internal debate about McGillis coming out of high school. According to what I read, Tinkle wanted to offer him and LK said no. Can anybody confirm that? Because if it’s true, then LK’s recruiting prowess is proven questionable.

I think that is a fairly accurate assessment. No coach is right about every recruit though.

But when you add that to the growing list of LK recruits who didn't pan out, it makes you wonder.

Coach T can recruit, I will give him that. Qvale and Selvig were huge. I wish I did not have reason to be so cynical about his coaching, but I dno't see how we continually get outclassed in this conference we were picked to win.

I think any coach deserves 3 years before a true assessment can be made. just my opinion

I agree with the 3 year assessment, even if I've already made up my mind. Next year will be interesting, younger but more players in their true positions. Next year will be a good barometer of his coaching abilty, I'm afraid they will not perform and another coach will come in with a stocked cabinet and become a hero.

I am going to stick with Tinks the rest of this season, and throughout next season before I judge whether he is HC material or not. There is still ample time to make the tournament. He needs to rally the troops and take it one game at a time. There is really no reason the Griz cannot make the BSC tourney. If they can do that, everyone starts with an 0-0 record and as we have winessed in the past, anything can, and often does happen.
