Games of the week

Geez. How many first true tests are the Griz going to have this year? A HUGE MAJORITY of fans said the App game was it. Then, oh App sucks, the Griz aren't for real yet. EVERYBODY on this board called UND the "First real test" for the Griz. Oops, UND sucks too. Now it's only conjecture if the Griz are for real or not. Skip Panhandle. Now, NAU is for real and the Griz might not be if they lose in Flagstaff? Really? I've actually seen the Griz lose in Flagstaff and win the Big Sky before, so the Griz CAN lose this game and still be very much for real.

IN fact, I already believe the Griz are for real, and I don't believe they'll get through the Big Sky unbeaten.

How about every game is A TEST? Not the first test. This is the fourth test.
+1
You have to come to play every Saturday. I remember in '09 when we just squeaked by an awful ISU team. We needed a last second field goal to win that game. We then proceeded to march through the rest of our schedule and playoffs onto the chipper. That's the point I was making; EVERY GAME is a test, and presents it's own challenges.

We have to take care of business on our end too, however, I wouldn't bet on NDSU taking a loss this season. 20/22 starters back and 2 time defending champs.....they are THE team to beat. SDSU stands no chance IMO.

NDSU is tough and they return a LOT of talent, but they haven't really faced an offense like Montana's or EWU's the past 2 years. SHSU tried to spread them out but they didn't have the capability to throw the ball down field like the Griz and Eagles do. They may not lose a regular season game but I'd like to see how they do against a top tier big sky team in the playoffs this year...

I don't know who will win, but talking about the Griz offense at this point is unrealistic. They haven't played anyone with a good defensive line yet. I was at the UND game. It is good to be excited, but be realistic also. The Griz will be one dimensional against NDSU. If Zenner only averaged 40 yards a game, then Van and Canada don't have a chance. JJ has to beat them through the air. I hope the two backs are great blockers. I hope I am wrong, as I would love to see the Griz win.

Don't watch as much EWU. We watch every, Cat, Sioux, Griz, and Bison game we can so hard to say much about them. Heading up to watch Sioux and Cats this weekend.

Too early to tell but at this point, I would give the nod to SHSU offense the last couple of years and SHSU didn't give them any trouble. Two games I attended, that could have went either way, were the Wofford, and GSU games totally different types of offense. Those two lines were amazing.

Right now it's a lot of speculation on both sides, give it a few more weeks and we will have a better idea.
A lot will unfold this weekend. Just playing Devils Advocate.

Il play devils advocate as well. Thus far, rhetoric regarding our early season success suggests that our opponents have been less than worthy, and we haven't been "tested". Likewise, everyone has been saying that our true test would not come until NAU. Well, NAU is here, and if we beat them like a drum this weekend as we have every team we've faced, the rhetoric will remain the same.

You are probably right. The season really starts now. I think the Griz win easy this weekend especially after the NAU/SD game.

Well, until the BSC entrant gets by the current 2-time BSC champs SHSU Bearkats, it's a moot point.
