Northern Arizona Scouting Reports

Nice to see Massey had it wrong
Their perfection was bound to end, much like our 100% red zone efficiency

Hard to do when no one knows what a "shuffle pass" is.

Hard to type sometimes when your Dad has Alzheimer’s and you text your sister many days about his shuffling. Autopopulate on phone. But whatever makes you feel better bud.

Not sure I care either way pal. And sorry about your dad.

Then why respond in the first place? Pal

Because I wanted to know what a "shuffle pass" was friend.

Game ball is a three way tie to Strahm, Simis, and JLM. Warriors, all three. Simis has one of the ugliest and gutsiest performances I have ever seen from a Griz QB. He won’t go down in the stats book but holy hell, there was no f$&!ing quit in that guy. See all the blood on his arm and leg? That guy literally bleeds Maroon. Go Griz!!!

we won,,,,why the hook on hill after one series,,,,,using that formula we would not have any qbs.....if he is not better than simis, then let him go and use the scholarship on another player,,,,,,i think stitt must have known it was going to be simis......no way hill had any opportunity to get into a rhythm.....seems a little unfair to hill..... im happy simis plays for the griz though,,,,what a gamer and winner....loved it ...go griz.

Was he on sideline second half? Anytime camera was on Stitt talking to Simis he was not around.....seemed very strange

I would not expect Hill to be here next year, given the way this season has played out.

Simis is leaving, could be an H-back slot opening up. I'm only half-kidding...

Griz did pretty well for having no chance to win this game.

Chances improved quite a bit when Cookus got the boot.

Well. Montana was equally hurt by the loss of Jensen...

Our 4th string guy is simply a better gamer than case’s backup.

Yea you QB could run the ball. I give credit to NAU's true freshman QB. Played pretty well under the circumstances.

Not the end of the world for NAU. This loss will make them stronger. They will hammer MSU at home next week and then beat SUU on the road to win a Big Sky Championship and playoff bid. Absolutely no doubt in my mind.

I like NAU and their fans that post on Egriz and am all for them beating SUU. I just wouldnt count on you all winning that one. MSU is not a bad team either fortunately for you, you play them at home.

Had Case remained in game, our Griz would have been in serious peril. Stupid move on his part after the play ended, his exit was memorable. Million dollar arm, ten cent head. The case back up is a great runner and decent passer.

Granted NAU very talented, balanced. An ugly win, a needed win keeping us on life support in Missoula

Just saw this.

that explains why Simis kept running over to the sideline to get plays.

I will say this, when the camera kept going to Hill on the sideline, he didn't look very happy.

Pretty sure Simis didn’t have the hand signals down, but what can you expect, really? Dude hasn’t been a QB for two years until this week.

that would be a no.

So just before the game started I went to my buddy in the NEZ, get'em_griz,and said that somehow I had a feeling that we would win this game.

If we had Gresch and they had Case then who knows. If they had Case and we didn't have Gresch then we would probably be dead. And vice versa. But as it turned out, neither had the QB they wanted. Turned out to be an old-fashioned football game, back to the days before the forward pass ruled. 2 teams closely matched in a war to see whose will would prevail.

The crowd was loud all game. We finally kicked butt in STs. We played D And we got the W.

Stitt was right about this team in his presser. They have heart and never quit.

I would love to see Stitt succeed. I love his recruiting skills. 2 big games ahead, most likely with the Magic Man back at QB. We win those and we get at least one home playoff game.

I have a feeling that this game is a turning point for this team. We'll know for sure as soon as we see the trail of tears return in 2 weeks.
