Gameday Thread: Montana at Idaho State

Too bad he didn't run that one back.

All right, I think the coaching staff deserves a little bit of credit for the second half today. They did make enough adjustments to pull ahead and get the win

I'm glad they one and glad I was wrong about the outcome.

Nice win guys!!! Really helps build so mo for these guys. I was doubtful of their ability to do this, glad I was wrong! Lot's to work on and get better at, just keep winning and improving, please!

GO GRIZ!

First to admit I was very critical of the Griz today and didn't think they had it in them to pull this out. I apologize for losing faith. These games are gonna give me a heart attack. Like the fight I saw today.
Over on another thread, I mentioned that even back in the "glory days," we had periods when we called them the "Cardiac Griz." That team did damn good, so -- hard as it is on my much older heart -- I can live with (I hope).

And spare us the bitching, ugly comments -- back-to-back road wins is always a good thing.

Dont think Stitt likes Phenecie much

He shouldn't after that shit talking interview by phen. Douche nozzle.

Is there a place to watch the interview? That was a quick handshake and then blowoff by Stitt and it didnt look like Phenecie liked it much :)

Phen was asked before the game about the Griz. His response was total douche:

- griz are flag ship program in big sky
- we are just lucky to play them
- they have the best facilities and players
- their coach is an offensive genius
- we are just poor little Idaho state
- guess we are lucky just to play them and I hold we can be competitive and don't get embarrassed

Oh. Glad we beat them

Good. After listening to phen phen be a dick all week, and to watching their players flip off the crowd, they just jumped up on the scale of hatable teams. PSU redux.

Bengals just blew their entire load trying beat Montana. They'll be lucky to go .500 the rest of the season. I've seen it time and time again.

Nailed it.

I love the offenses production today. It's a dam shame that such a nice showing offensively can be overshadowed to some extent by the defenses performance. That they had a couple of key stops is beside the point. The unit is not performing well. But kudos to the offense today. Game ball should go to the o line. The unit as a whole is performing better every week!

Some here posted before the season started that this OL would be improved and actually be a strength this season. Looks like a few people were right about that. I wonder, who were those few people? :D :thumb:

yeah, I think so too. I gripe quite a bit, legit gripes on D but #2 didn't hurt us as much in the second half and we ran the ball well in the second half. :thumb:

Agree with the cardiac griz comment although I will add that back in the day the griz never did anything to shake my confidence. We rarely lost and I knew we could hang with any team we faced. Stitt and co are cardiac griz for sure but the way last season ended definitely shook my confidence. Comparing the cardiac griz of old and the current cardiac griz, I would have to say it feels different. Todays griz are still in the process of rebuilding my trust.

287 yards allowed 1st half; below our BSC average (580.5).

Right now I have no clue of the final score but this is a golden post, I'll continue forward on this journey of ineptitude...

Failed to make another important point: It was a come-from-behind win on the road. Granted, the Griz were not way behind, but ... give credit.

Yet we still gave up over 500 yards

Still perfect in the red zone though
Incredible defensive effort by UM

Keys to winning for ISU was over 400 yards in the air and over 600 yards in total offense. They came up a short. Impressive win for UM.

Well, after knowing nothing about the game past early second quarter and reading through this thread I have two thoughts:

1) Hope nobody jumped off a ledge when we got behind, holy balls people
2) Sounds like our defense held them well below our BSC average...shutdown baby! I know, I'm just screwing around.

Actually though the things that sounded good...halftime adjustments seemed to work a little, road win is always good, my feeling about that kid who Stole Christmas seems to be panning out...see if we can keep the momentum going and hopefully shore up the secondary, sounds like another sketchy day for them.
