We live in Winston-Salem which is in the middle of NC. But I have been all over the South and have never heard anyone from the South say anything other than App-a-latch-un. I only hear the incorrect pronunciation when we are playing Michigan. But crick? Seriously? How do you get crick from the word creek which has two e's back to back? Hell, even we aren't that redneck!

God-a-mighty, can kickoff get here any slower? All this arguing about how to say ASU is making ME want to put a hat on somebody! Lots of love to all-- until 6:30 tomorrow night!!!
It all depends. If it flows through a pretty mountain meadow, it is a creek. If it flows through a cow pasture it is a crick. Thus we have things like Rock Creek, but at the same time we have lots of Shit Cricks.

Scottish and Irish heritage, also jist/just git/get

A creek is something an old chair does. A crick is a cool place you fish for trout. It's game Day... Go Griz beat App State at The Rock! Good luck to both teams and here's hoping for no serious injuries.
To all the App State fans, I have dropped Happy Appy and Appy State to respect how classy your posts have been.
