Game times - It will be late

Times for the games have been set.

First game will match Texas Tech vs Maine at 7 PM.
Second game between Montana vs Louisiana Tech will be 30 minutes after game 1. I would say approximately 9:15PM to 9:30PM (or later if first game ends in 1 or more overtimes).

For those bringing children, this could be kind of hard. Will be long past their bedtimes.

But for those fans of Maine Black Bears. That would be around 11:30PM for those wanting to watch it back in Maine. 10:30PM is pretty late to watch a basketball game for the other two teams.

You would think, those ESPN guys would think about the teams that are involved and those most interested in watching it would be those from earlier time zones and schedule the games just a little earlier, like 5 or 6PM for the first game. Still late for those on the east coast, but I would not think it so unbearably late. But at least those here in Missoula and those in the central time zones it isn't that late.

Oh well. If fans are really interested in watching these games, they will watch at anytime of day. Or just set the recorder and watch it the next day.

Since the games will be shown in a regional format (some games will only be seen in some regions), I wonder if ours will be on in every region. If it is the only game being played this late, that could be an advantage for coverage.

Do you know of any games that will be competing?

You have to wonder if La Tech did something to really piss off the NCAA or ESPN. First they give them a 5 seed when their record and ranking indicate closer to a 3 would be appropriate (I know, RPI, but RPI is biased against smaller conference - oh you play in the SEC, your opponents must be good even if they suck, so we won't penalize you for a loss. Oh, you play in the WAC, your opponents suck, so we won't give you much credit for your wins). To add insult to injury they send them across the country to play a 12 seed that really should be a 10 seed, whose coach is among the leaders for wins in the country, on their home court. Just for fun that home court is at 3,000 feet elevation, and regularly has one of the largest wbb crowds in the country. Not enough for you? Let's have them play at 10:30 LA time.

I was feeling like Montana was being snubbed, but we got nothing to bitch about compared to Tech. I'm not saying the Lady Griz will win, but they have pretty much made it as hard as possible on LA Tech, and I wonder how much this seeding will take out of them if they make it out of Missoula?

The Montana - La. Tech. game will be televised in all regions. The first game will be on a regional basis.

That is the one good reason for the late game. You have a late game, there isn't any competition for television. If the game was scheduled earlier, it would be on a regional basis.

The Committee has stuck it to us for 3 years straight now. The travel, altitude, and time won't bother us too much, though. The WAC has a few time zones and altitude differences. :-)

The crowd won't bother us too much either. We are used to playing in tough arenas. Ours is probably one of the toughest in the country.

Now, the home court advantage is something different. It is always difficult to beat a team (especially in the tournament) at their own place. Hopefully, we will adjust quickly.

The selection committee sucks donky balls. I hate how they give so many bids to conferences like Big 12, SEC, etc. There should be a limit. Also, they just basically choose their seeding by what the damn RPI says rather than their heads. Hell whats the point of a selection committee if you just align the RPI with the seeding.
