GAME DAY THREAD - weebs

This game was incredibly frustrating to watch but egriz connection issues were almost as frustrating. What is the problem today?

If any other top tier program had these last 3 games in conference jobs would be lost

I doubt any top tier program coming off back to back 10 win seasons fire coaches after losing 2 road games to top 5 teams with a backup QB by a score.

Exactly what top tier program are you referring to?.... At least you got a nice stadium :thumb:

My understanding is it has to do something with Russians and satellites.

He’s getting complacent with losing. :| :|

I was thinking the same thing; he got used to it. It's now imprinted.

and he knows it is his own doing with his staff and won't change, so knows the blame would go on him/them and he can't point out really bad plays/stupid mistakes on players because everyone knows the real elephants (yes plural) in the room. Better to say nothing than address the real issues and admit his fault/his buddies not cutting it. That was a whipped dog, Hill and Taylor are so far above him in coaching respect of the BSC it is laughable. Bobby thinks is the big man in the room, but no one else does except his koolaid drinkers here. Players are sick of him and his buddies, if it wasn't for a few assistants he would have completely lost the locker room. He will lose it if he doesn't make some changes, winning covers up a lot of dissatisfaction but when a season is like this it starts to appear. The ball is in his court, what he does in the next couple months will determine what the trajectory is for the program. His back is against the wall not only winning out, but if not what staff changes he makes to put some energy and hope back into the team for the future.

I looked at it differently...I looked at it like he was confident from here forward knowing that Lucas was going to be back at the helm..he made a solid statement regarding the depth chart. He knows the team is a good team.

I'm sure he liked his squads and had a depth chart at UNLV as well. That's what coaches say...unfortunately, it doesn't always translate to wins.

When do you think the Griz will start beating ranked teams regularly?

It will never consistently happen with this coaching staff. Even under the first iteration of Hauck, when he was absolutely dominating the Big Sky, we had a habit of not being able to close out big games (particularly those on the road) - hence the name Big Game Bob.

well I know the next ranked team he will beat will be on November 19th, so that is a good start..

Do you know that like you KNEW we’d beat Sac State and you KNEW we’d beat Weber? Like THAT “know”? Or is this a different “know”?

I guess you will have to wait and find out. LJ will be back this week and that makes a difference. had he not gotten hurt we would have beat sac and had he played even one half we would have beat weber. I suppose he could get hurt again in the next two games and not play against the scats but barring that I aint worried.

You must be referring to playoff games. In his last 4 years he was an amazing 32-1 against BSC teams, the lone loss at Weber avenged soundly in the playoffs. Some of those were big games. Yes, the '09 Villanova NC game was a pisser. Nova adjusted at the half, ahead, we didn't need to..... '04 JMU NC game another, but they had us soundly outmanned in the trenches.

The '08 semi game at #1 JMU was a very big game that was closed out. Ditto the '09 semi at home vs. Appie.

If’s and hypotheticals are for losers. Quality teams take care of business regardless.
