GAME DAY THREAD - UNDSU

At the very least a new OL coach is needed. I don’t like the offensive scheme, but I think it is greatly limited by poor OL play. Unfortunately next year’s OL play seems unlikely to be a whole lot different as we are this far into recruiting - but getting a new OL coach ASAP at least gets us heading in right direction.

Not against the 3-3-5 defense, but we gotta find something else for this type of offense. MSU and NDSU are gonna always need to be beat to get where we want to go.

I don’t like how we have lost our discipline. Sloppy tackling so often during the year, we weren’t the better kicking team half the time, and it didn’t seem that we were the better prepared team like it always did in Hauck’s first tenure.

Robby’s late field goal return for td is the type of preparedness that we used to see a lot of. Griz just don’t take the field knowing we are the better prepared team often.

Gilman looks like the real deal.

We really really need to have a 1st team all conference OL in 2 yrs or less - that ain’t happening with this coach.

Really, you are down to "bragging rights for beating the Bizon"?

come on!...not me but any coach would....it was the highlight of Stitts career...he post it
on his tweeter....but really at this point who really cares....move on!

Well, it is the only thing that Stitt can brag about during his Montana stint.

I grew up in Missoula and I have always been a Griz fan. Today we played a football dynasty in the NDSU Bison. I was hoping for the best, a win. But feared the worst. Some people on here pull out these knee jerk post about this player and that player and coaches. Grow up, Britt is a freshman against one of the best defenses in 1AA. Be a Griz fan and accept the fact that things don’t always go our way.

Another fun season, kind of… for Griz football. They need A LOT of recruits, a D-line, an O-Line… and an OC and DC as coach Baer is retiring. I’ll miss watching the seniors, and hope we find a “Durable” QB, I think it starts with the O’line. See ya next year cause it’s gonna be ugly here all the way through Spring ball…😬

Coach Baer retiring would be the best news we get in a long time. Tired of watching the ole 3-3-5 give up 1000 yards rushing in 3 weeks

It’s not that we lost. It’s how. And it’s the same shit that we’ve seen end our season for two years in a row now. Despite the rhetoric we hear come from staff. Same shit.

Where did Gilman disappear too?
Oh that’s right, he was killing it so let’s not play him again.
Last time I looked, he was only averaging 8 ypc. Sit his butt down! As someone else said, it' not that we lost to a team that has never lost a second round playoff game at home, ever - it's the frustration of the season dealing with the same mistakes, calls, game plans, etc, etc, over and over again. like we never change or learn anything all season long. frustrating.

I would guess his pass protection isn’t college level yet. It takes a while. We can’t switch rbs out for passing plays and tip the defense.

I think Gilman is gonna contribute a great deal starting next year. He looks the part, for sure. Excited to see him next year.

Well obviously our run defense was horrendous against MSU and NDSU. But it sounds like we will be getting a new DC. So hey, who knows maybe we get a good student of the game and get a coach who isn’t afraid the change things up.

When all you “experts” are the new AD’s, Head Coach’s, DC’s, OC’s, OL and Basketball coaches I’ll know who to shit on when you don’t go undefeated! Bah Humbug to you whiners

You do realize that a new DC might not be someone that isn't already on staff.

That did cross my mind as I was typing. Let’s hope for the best.

Well, it is the only thing that Stitt can brag about during his Montana stint.

The hope with Stitt was that his offense could win games we weren't favored to win. That's what he did at Mines (they hadn't won a conf. title since 1958 before him). Then he came here and promptly beat NDSU. He also lost the really good QB from KY to injury or he probably beats the Cats, makes the playoffs year 3 and gets extended. But either way, his teams (and offense) were as prone to getting upset as they were to pulling off an upset. Though I think he would have made a decent (and entertaining) coach for Northern Colorado and would have gotten them 6-5 or maybe even 7-4 seasons occasionally...

I supported bringing Bobby back and went on record here that it would be crazy not to, but I do think that now instead of being stuck with losses in the championship (Bobby 1.0), we're stuck a level or two below that. Hope I'm wrong. If I'm right, it's not a bad place to be. So many programs would be more than happy with that. But the tables have turned, and now comparisons to the program down the road are no longer so funny...

I like to go back and read game threads to see where it’s a break down when we start kicking your ass . I should take screen shots of all the cockiness , aged well
