GAME DAY THREAD - ISU

And this is why #17 needs to be the starter. He can throw and run. . As Junior Bergen said after the game, McDowell can run and throw the ball and you don't know what he's going to do back there. He shouldve been the starter from the beginning and from here on out. The offense looked way more produced with him in it.

He needs to clean up his throwing but once Pease actually started using him correctly (rolling out) it opened up things nicely. I'll eat crow in that regard, play calling was a bit better but it took to long to happen (why wait till 2nd half) hope they build on it.

5:33 left, running the clock, McDowell has the ball snapped with 16 seconds on the play click. WTF?!!!
Somebody got his attention, as after that no snaps til 5 sec left on the play clock. That needed to be taught? To a Sophomore in high school, yes! McDowell ain't a hs underclassman

Idaho State. Definitely a playoff team. Look forward to their natchup with butler.

Weak sauce. Try again.
Fair. I'll try again. You guys are terrible. You're going to win 1 more game and we're going to beat you by 30 in Dennys house. Ink it.

Still weak because that's just the truth.

You're not very good at this game.

Reading some of these comments is hilarious. Putting down McDowell on every play and every decision he makes that doesn't get a TD. But when Vidlak was playing, nobody complained about him, it was the o lines fault and the receivers not catching the ball. McDowell is part of the reason why we put up 28 points this game and 42 in the last game he started Meanwhile Vidlak was only able to put up 14 in the games he played in. Everyone hating on McDowell because his form doesn't look pretty but his stats show that he can and does complete more than Vidlak and when the o-line breaks down, he still gets us positive yards instead of just sitting back there to get sacked. You might not like McDowell for whatever stupid reason you make up but we win when he's playing and the offense looks way better and more productive.

You're missing a good chunk of context here saying he doesn't throw a pretty ball doesn't mean we think hes god awful, we just need him to improve to have a snowballs chance in hell to get some more wins this season. Also when Pease decided to use him correctly (rolling out ex.) he got better/it helped.

And Vidlaks sack WAS the O-Lines fault, they literally rushed 3 and kept getting to him, need to tone down the sensitivity.

JFC… I’m just happy the Griz won. Didn’t you guys win too?

They will always have a complex. Even when their team is better than ours. That’s why they will always be little brother.

When the defensive end beats Walker and Vidlak is still dropping back in less then 3 seconds? Yeah that's on the O-Line. Funny you claim everyone here hates McDowell when you seem to hate Sam, hypocrite much?

One last question: Did Mayginnes(#61) see the field today, that is, other than from the sidelines?

I don’t think so

Mayginnes was not involved in the pre-game warm up and was not on the sideline. When asked about it in the post-game, Hauck only confirmed that Liam Brown started at left guard.

Apparently, Bobby was not impressed with his(non-)performance at NAU. He's still listed on the roster on GoGriz.
