GAME DAY THREAD - CPSLO

And then they show a graphic that has the Griz record incorrect. I mean, is shit like that really that difficult?

Nick Ostmo finished the game with 260 total yards! 221 rushing, and 39 yard receiving, to go along with 2 touchdowns.

I know comparisons are bad but I can't help myself. Is Britt our Tommy Mellott? They seem to have the same skills and weaknesses, yet one has been allowed to use his skills to help his team while the other has been effectively benched until now.

I had that exact thought before the game even started, just from what limited time we’d seen him on the field…I don’t think it’s exact (I think Britt is a better passer and Mellott a better runner), but the comparison isn’t a bad one…we may never find out though. Hopefully Bobby had an awakening tonight.

Britt plays 13 offensive snaps and ends up 3rd leading rusher on the day.

Successful experiment?

2/2 passing and averaged 7 yards a carry? I saw only one or two plays where I thought he made the wrong read on the RPO…

Notable statistics from the game against Cal Poly:

Griz averaged 6.6 yards/carry on 62 carries (total of 412 rushing yards)

11 different players had a reception, but no Griz had more than 4 receptions.

Griz didn't punt a single time today.

I’d love to see AJ Abbott in there. Don’t know what we are getting out of KB handing the ball off.

My understanding is Abbott is way down the depth chart.

I saw he was dressed. Kind of a passing thought. Glad we got to see Britt tho!

A damn travesty that Britt did not see the game at Weber. I just don’t understand it. Said earlier by someone. Play to win instead of playing conservative and scared. Britt is super mobile. Brown is a more of a pocket QB. Britt would have been a different wrinkle that Weber wouldn’t have accounted for. At least should have put the kid in for a series.

He’s basically LJ, just less experienced. Brown (as you said) is a pocket QB with a little running ability. You can’t run RPO with a QB who’s not a threat to run, just can’t.

Childs just looks different when he gets the ball and by different I mean good! He and Harris both need more touches moving forward.

Yeah it seems like Knight is our 4th best back. Just by the eye test at least.

The biggest difference between Britt and KB is that Britt looks like he gives a shit and isn’t going to take it lying down. KB shits himself and tucks his head and just waits for the sack.

Britt may know he doesn’t have a cannon but he goes in…hair on fire and he takes off and runs balls to the wall and makes plays.

I’d rather have the nothing to lose gamer in any day over the kid that just mentally can’t hack it at this level. We would have won the last two games if we just gave Britt 2-3 series.

Brother, you are in for a pleasant surprise next spring.

Bobby said Ostmo's day was the best performance by rb since Chase Reynolds against App St in snow.

First time playing in snow for Johnson and Ostmo. Johnson said he enjoyed, because he's now Montana tough.

Bobby said that when you have a qb making good decisions with the run and pass, you can run better plays. Can't recall what term he used.

Bobby said he expected this game from the Griz.
