Gamboa pleads guilty for a fight

BS. Quit making excuses for this player. You're a Griz Football Player. You're under the microscope. You have to know that. Playing for the Grizzlies is a privilege and with that comes responsibilities. If things are "getting a little rowdy" get out. I've been at parties in college and knew when to get out. Do I think he should be kicked off the team? No! He deserves punishment. That's up for the coach to decide. I'm glad I'm not Stitt. I don't know what his punishment should be, but it should go beyond "setting an example for others." It should show this MAN what it means to have responsiblity and to make him think about others, and consequences rather than should saying F it.

I still find it amazing that what we used to get scolded for and sent home by the cops now gets one arrested, with a record, and with long-term consequences. Really sad what this country has become....

 well stated. According to Harpers football participation nationwide is down 17%. It's all about PC and soccer participation medals now. A buddy of mine from Butte tried out for PSU football back in the late 80s. His prospects weren't looking good until he beat up some current players in a college bar fight. He made the team. I like my linebackers violent. In control, but simmering.

Then some wish a cutie was the cause of it. If not, Gamboa should have asked to move the issue to the Mo Club. Now a famous location Egrizers have vicous dust ups. Not a single poster received a punch, bloody nose or other serious pain. Many nasty verbal names were thrown out and not one has been arrested. Players need to be taught the art of bashing one another with words. This should be a required course for all Griz players.

My college and military buddies made sure we always had some female friends with us. They could tell which guys were idiots, jerks, and likely to start trouble. If things ever got to a fight, they were there to say, "He /they were defending us." Back then, that worked every time. The cops would give everyone a warning and go on with their night. A few times, a few of us most definitely should have been charged with some kind of offense.

Well, I wake up this morning a few minutes ago and am welcomed the day with this article

http://missoulian.com/news/local/griz-linebacker-pleads-guilty-to-instigating-fight/article_4f420360-e060-5bba-baa8-08da14fee65f.html

And fall camp started today as well, would sure like to know what was said last night at the first team meeting for Stitt

Based on that article, I see NOTHING that would mandate or necessitate a full game suspension for Gamboa.
+1. Agony 40's until they puke... :egriz:

Did he win the fight?

That was the first question I used to ask my subordinate leaders when one of the Soldiers in my unit got into a fight. The answer needed to be yes.

Extra work after practice seems just about right in this case...if he won.

My guess for the hurried timeframe is there was a conversation between Stitt and Gamboa. HB was asked if it was true. He said yes. Stitt said here's how its going to go. We're not going to play the plead not guilty, let the season progress and then plead guilty after the season is over game. We're going to get this over with, get the focus back on the football team and the start of camp, and the new regime.

If its over and done with quick, there can't be articles in the paper for a week. Maybe just a "without Gamboa on the field" statement buried in an article about fall camp.

And for the people that said that we don't know what happened or who started it, the police said multiple people stated he was walking around trying to start stuff. And he pleaded guilty. Soooo, I guess that's what we have to go by. But if we're playing the conjecture game and guessing what happened like we're all internet experts because we don't think that's what really happened, I'm guessing PR threw the party, AG1 got HG a little bit too drunk, and then TokyoG showed up and stoll HG's girlfriend. That''s what set him off. Where is Tokyo by the way? Was he banned?

This is a lot different story than the first one I heard, I wouldnt even sit him a game for fighting at a party, thats what men do. (Dont expect many of you to understand that)
I agree, and I take back all that bad stuff I said about the MSLA PD, well, at least in my last post.

Can we change the title of this thread to "Herbie goes bananas"?

Got suspended for the opener.

Isn't it great, AG1, we're back to the pre-Delaney Griz? Oh, that swagger. OMG! Heaven is here!

...funny, there is some idiot on the missoulian website who posted the exact same dumb ass comment.

I'm sure alphie will be the first to defend a player who gets a DUI, because, you know, that's what men do.

I've had many friends play for the Griz, and I worked in a Missoula bar, so I saw plenty of fights in Missoula back in the day. Who calls the cops over this these days? Damn cell phones... :thumb:

Astute football observation..............

You could probably fit in quite nicely with most of the women at the party that "know football".
