Gabe Sulser

Injured and in blue jersey, to my knowledge. Doesn't necessarily mean he's redshirting. Just blueshirting so far.

Some hamstring issues from track season still. Been a nagging injury and will be most likely his career unless he takes the time to rest it, which is what I’m guessing he’s doing.

Btw, don’t ever start a thread with just a player’s name again....I pooped a little

Dam. Lots of typing tough guys. Scared me a bit. But thanks for the information. Hadn’t heard much about him. Thanks again

Sulser pulled his hamstring at the Midland Roundtable Top 10 track meet in Billings in the spring. He shut it down for the rest of track season only to run the 110 hurdles at the Class AA state meet, running 14.22 seconds, missing Matt Larson's legendary state record by 0.01 seconds. Sulser then shut it down again, not playing in the Badlands Bowl despite his dad Mark serving as Montana's coach. He did not play in the Shrine Game either. He was in a blue jersey for all the practices I attended in August. Guys with tight-bound legs like him struggle with these sorts of soft tissue injuries because they take time to heal.

One of my best friends is former Griz defensive end Jace Palmer. He did this his senior year of high school and it basically caused him to redshirt back in 2005. Once he got healthy, he became a 3-year starter and a standout. Just takes time to heal for sprinters. Sulser will be fine with proper rest.

I was surprised and wondering, why he was not in the 2 deep depth chart. Glad to know now. Relieved he is being given the time to properly heal from that kind of injury. My hamstring injury lingered for a few years, being I didn't rest it properly.

Popped my hamstring playing amateur baseball after college, and it bothers me to this day. I popped it at least 2-3 more times after the first time in things like hoops or fast pitch softball. I get worried I’ll tweak it when I’m skiing now as I can feel it. Hope he rests it well....I made the mistake of not resting it properly.

"Typing tough guys" is pretty good...permission to use in the future?

I originally injured mine playing baseball. Years later, still played a lot of basketball and softball, it never did fully recover, until after I gave up playing competitively. Even now, it still tightens up on me at work, golfing, hiking. Fortunately, it hasn't resulted in more.

I am sure, in Sulser's case and other competitive athletes. Usually, tighter muscles make pulls more likely, and easier to aggravate. Are there any trainers on this board, to expand further on this?
