You idiots who weren’t there have no idea what you’re talking about. It was a great show and Axl did just fine.

Also, the members, especially Axl and Slash, have been sober for years. Axl never was into the drugs.

Was awesome to be back in Wa-Griz in any capacity.

I was there and thought it was on the weak side. It was nearly 9:00 before GNR took the stage, the first three songs were great, then the band slid into self-indulgence and extended versions, and beer sales were cut off at 9:40. Stadium at 60-70 percent full, not because of COVID worries but because of ticket prices at $250 plus service fees. Slash is a great player and he carried the band, but the show overall was nothing special.

Mariani in 2009 South Dakota State playoff game is in front of Paul. Both Pearl Jam stadium shows ahead of Slash and the first Pearl Jam stadium show at least tied with but probably ahead of Paul, though behind Mariani.

👍agreed
The three in our party enjoyed the 3 hour show very much.
Fyi...Axl and Slash were fantastic and both in great shape.

It was a phenomenal show. The only disappointing part was that Missoula did not show out like they should for it. I was thoroughly impressed with the entire performance.

Also, this did not really displace the Griz as Montana conducts fall camp at Dornblaser Field pretty much every pratice. They have been at Dornblaser all week. No practices in the stadium yet.

I thought he used to do a little but a little wouldn't do so the little got more and more.

He’s been dancing with Mr. Brownstone.

I would never argue the MM pick, but Pearl Jelly sucks balls.

Possibly the worst band in the history of music. I wish The Jam would immediately all die in an airplane crash. Or at the very least go down in the snowy Andes foothills and be forced to slowly eat one other until only Eddie Vedder’s marinated larynx and Stone Gossard’s finger were discovered by rescue teams. Pearl Jam is Bad Company with knit caps and better goatees, a bloated strain of Seattle-soaked cock rock pretending to bleed at the alt alter. Their dalliance with the Black Hole hole of ill-defined social concerns was barely overshadowed by a cameo in the seminal Bridget Fonda ’90s angst-fest, Singles. Pearl Jam are mumble-core that is irritating beyond measure, unearned flannel brooding and hilarious furrowed lip, all testost and no terone, every song a wash of lazy sludge that never fails to devolve into Vedder’s signature vocal move, ritualistic small mammal yowling: yeah-hah-uhhh-ah-uhhh-ooh-oh-oh-oooh-yeah-grrr-mammer-jammer-ah-hah-huh-oh-yeah-oooh-Jeremy-Jeremy-uh-uh-ooh-eah-huh-hibble-dop-deeble-dibble-dop-yeah-hah!

Huh, I wonder why they can still draw at Wagriz?

That’s great to hear CFalls. It’s my wife’s favorite band of all time (middle school crush on Duff that I’ve heard about for years), and she was looking to see them on this tour. Of course, they’re not going to be what they were, but it’s good to hear that they still try to bring it.

Colter is spot on - phenomenal is a good way to put it. I went in there expecting mediocrity and a fat Axl, but he and the entire band (7 members) were in great shape and ripped it for over three hours, no breaks. There were four in our group and we were all very impressed and surprised at the show they delivered once word got out MWVH had to cancel. Slash has to be in the discussion of top five greatest guitar players of all time.

So, people are disappointed that Guns and Roses didn’t sell out with ANOTHER concert on the same night out at Kettlehouse, plus the fair in town? Weird.

I sure hope someone at the University ( Sundberg)
gets that clip purchased so that it can be used on Griz vision.
Go Griz!

That’s cool! I showed my wife this post in a braggart sort of way. Her favorite band, Duff, blah blah blah. Her response: “Do they know what the next line is in the recorded version?”

So I wonder if someone hates them so much, why take the time to learn their names? Maybe someone might be a bit envious and they wish they were as cool as Hurl Spam. By the way, Hurl Spam is a term of endearment.

My wife and I went to the show. I’ve been a casual GnR fan for years. My wife is a fan of the hits, but doesn’t really know anything about the band.

I had tempered expectations, but we were both pretty much blown away by the entire concert. Slash and Duff stole the show. Seeing Slash wail on the guitar live was a trip. Axl was better than I expected and definitely brought the energy. It took a while for the stadium to fill in, probably because of the opener canceling. The stadium felt pretty full by the end of the night. Too bad it wasn’t a sellout, but the ticket prices were pretty high.

As lifelong Griz fan, I’ve been watching the football team enter the stadium to Welcome to the Jungle for 20 years (maybe more?). The beginning of that song always gives me goosebumps. The opportunity to see GnR play it live in the stadium was a once in a lifetime opportunity and was with the price of admission for me.

I’m laughing at the people complaining that GnR did hit the stage until 9:00. It was a bummer that the opener canceled, but shit happens. You are at a Friday night outdoor Guns n Roses concert. Did you really expect them to come out at 6:30 in the daylight and be done by 9:00? It’s Guns n Roses, baby! I would have been pissed if we were home before midnight.

Go Griz!

Well tell here so what. We’re ALL going to die eventually. No one gets out alive….

Absoulutely. We were there, too, and they kicked ass. We saw them a few years back at the Gorge and it was an equally impressive show. If this show had gone off at the time it was suppose to happen last year, I think it would have been a sellout.

I love Pearl Jam and have been to every Missoula show since '98 but this G 'n R show was every bit as entertaining as their shows and was definitely better than PJ's last WaGriz show.

What about the Rolling Stones? That concert was amazing.

Haven’t checked recently but I believe the lead singer of the Rolling Stones is this guy named “Mick”.
