Future Griz Dominate Shrine Game

I was pleasantly surprised with Braxton Reiten, as well. That kid could get up field in a hurry after the catch. Could be a good return man.

I touted Braxton when his Griz commitment was publicly announced. He can play a little bit: 74 catches for 1,303 yards and 22 touchdowns his SR year.

Very good stats

Rensvold is the real deal at inside WR from the sounds of it. Surprisingly, we don't have much young depth at that spot behind Bingham, we might be seeing Matt sooner rather than later. A big guy at 6-5 that can move, I'm excited about him.

I agree completely he looked awesome. I watched the first quarter live and had recorded the other three and finally got around to watching them last night. Rensvold has great size, great hands, and good speed. He looked like a man amongst boys many times.

Mitch Roberts had a good game as well and was able to showcase his athleticism. I was pleasantly surprised with Braxton Reiten, as well. That kid could get up field in a hurry after the catch. Could be a good return man. Nate dick looked incredible and I was very impressed with Tanner Wilson.

On the defensive side, Welnel really stood out. Great speed, tackling, and smarts. McGinnis impressed as well. The Griz are in good shape with these future Montana kids

For Cats recruits, I was very impressed with Tadan Gilman. That kid was a stud. Keaton Anderson also looks like s great athlete.

I was surprised they used Keaton on offense and defense. I guess it shouldn't have been much of a surprise because Dick and Anderson have a QB/WR connection and Keaton is a tremendous athlete. It helped having Michael McGinnis back there so if Keaton needed a series with the WRs, the East didn't really lose a step. When Keaton and Michael were in the backfield together, the West knew there was a risk throwing it deep. Bridwell and Wilson attacked the one-on-one matchups with the corners all game. Chanc Lawrence of Laurel and Dawson McGlothlin of Sidney struggled against Rensvold and Roberts all game. Anyway, all of the kids I expected to perform (specifically the kids in my Top 20), performed when they were given the opportunity.

Non Griz or Cat recruits that I thought did well in the spotlight:

WR - Chandler Allen (Fairfield) - might have had the best game out of any non-FCS recruit; Chandler belongs in my opinion and Montana Tech got a steal

DE - Bret Delp (Circle) - was wondering how the former 6'3", 200 lb. QB would handle DE duties full-time and he didn't disappoint with 1.5 sacks and a few TFLs; good long athlete who has a ton of room to add weight

MLB - Pat O'Connell (Glacier) - in two all-star games with the best of the best, Pat did nothing but perform consistently at MLB

TE/WR - Nate McGree (Butte Central) - great looking football player; Carroll College has a future in-state stud with Nate

RB - Ryan Arntson (Helena High) - no one on the East stopped him

LB/DL - Peter Hamilton, Jr. (Cut Bank) - showed great strength and ability on the defensive line; MLB in high school but the West offensive line struggled with Peter

WR/KR - Bailey Paddock (Bozeman) - did a bit of everything and I'm not surprised he won the East offensive MVP; Chandler Allen also had a case but Bailey also performed in the return game

OL - Jaylen Taggart (Hamilton) - played well on the offensive line; will be a TE for Montana Tech and he's already around playing weight for the position

I liked Colin Sassanno out of Capital High. Played safety and really flew around. Willing to risk his body to lay the boom. I could see him as an Big Sky safety but I believe he is heading Carroll.

Looks like he's left the team.
