Fun fact about St. George

ok. so i will say this. i really don't care if you believe in the bible or the book or mormon or the koran or the lord of the rings. makes no difference to me. my intent was to point out that "christians" pointing the finger and laughing at mormon beliefs is absurdly hypocritical. ABSURDLY. secondly, after i see your comments about the ark and the age of the earth, i will have to say that the likelihood of us coming to any sort of agreement on this topic is very, very unlikely. but like i said.... don't think any more or less of you because of your beliefs and i'm sure you're a damn (darn) nice fella.

I'm 'unaffiliated.' I lived in Mormon Country for a very long time. I was the only Non-Mormon I my neighborhood. The last family to move in was an exception. The father was some Grand Poobah in the church, running a bunch of missionaries. They left me alone. One winters day my vehicles heater core failed. So, while having to be a contortionist, scraping and cutting my hands and and fingers in the cold, the wife walked over and asked what it was that I was doing. I told her, and she replied, "On the Sabbath?"
This contrasts with the Mormon family on the other side of my house, who brought his two teenage sons over to help me move after I sold my house. People are all different. I don't paint a portrait with four inch brushes. :thumb:

I'm not laughing at Mormon people, I'm trashing their leadership like I trash the leadership of the Catholics, both have rampant sexual abuse within the ranks. I have known Mormons, regular old Joe and Jane aren't my targets, although I don't understand how they can fall for a false prophet that was a con man before he invented the religion. If they truly believe they can become Gods, they better figure out real quick how the only God doesn't have much of a sense of humor about that.

As far as the age of the Earth, the Ark, everything else that has been described in the Bible and later found by modern Archaeology, like I said, it's up to you if you want to research it. I'm sure you're a nice guy as well, I don't insist I'm right and everybody else is wrong, I just present evidence or examples that make people think like the documentary, and they can do what they want with it.

Spending 36 hours in St George on a 100 degree day didn't really give me much to take in or appreciate. The mountains are very different than what we see, red rock cliffs. It's still really pretty looking country, you could see Zion from the golf course we played. There's some awesome golf there and it's really affordable too.

The Utah Tech campus is super nice, lots of new buildings. I read a little bit about their campus, it's one of the fastest growing in the state, only about 1/3 LDS, and known for business, nursing, and research.

Yeah the drinking rules are weird, only 1 glass per person per table, 1oz pours in any cocktail, watered down beer, etc.

I could see how the area could appeal to a lot of Montanans in some way too. We love the outdoors and while the terrain is different the opportunities for biking, hiking, boating, golfing, etc are plenty down there too.

Scenery is nice from south of St. George on I-15, through whatever that gorge is called, then east to Glen Canyon Dam, then of course, the Grand Canyon. Worth the drive. Very colorful.
