Full cost of attendance payments to athletes

Several universities are paying full cost of attendance to scholarship athletes. The last amount I have found for NDSU is $ 3,400.00 and the money can be used at the discretion of the athlete. The money comes from outside donars.
Does the University of Montana have a similar program? I have read that a phased in plan is in the works according to a news article dated 2020.

It seems that NIL is replacing FCOA throughout college sports. It removes the financial burden from the Institution.

Not replacing. It's in addition to FCOA. P5 schollies are already FCOA. After that, its pretty much up to the conference and school. Oddly enough, the ones that offer them at the FCS level tend to make deep runs every year since the adoption. SDSU, NDSU, JMU (before the move), just off the top of my head.

Give it time.

You mean more than the almost 10 years that it hasn't happened, showed no signs of happening, and it's value overlooked despite the evidence of its effectiveness. Every Champion, and almost every runner up since it became available.

The reason most FCS schools don't offer is they don't have the financial resources. With NIL, that financial burden moves away from the school. It isn't rocket science.

Organizations like the GSA, could do the same thing through the university. My Brother in law donates to one in Fargo specifically to offset FCOA. Does it, rather than NIL, so the student athlete can just attend and play without further obligation or taxes. For him its 501c3 write off and Uncle Sam doesn't get a second bite at the apple.
