Well, you have to say the Nebraska admin gave Scott Frost every chance ... and he just couldn't cut it. They say they'll go with "Associate Head Coach" Mickey Joseph for the rest of the year. He's a Nebraska grad (play QB 1988-91) and had a bunch (like a dozen) short-term coaching gigs before landing back at Nebraska.
If he doesn't make at least some turn-around soon, I'm guessing Nebraska will be looking to grab a new coach sooner than that. Of course, Craig Bohl has been mentioned, and I've also heard of some FCS possibilities.
