Freshman QB's

There is a LONG list of freshman Qb's that have done REALLY WELL in the Big Sky...Why do any of you griz fans think that yours won't....I, as a Bobcat fan, hope he sucks ass....but he will do fine, and will make some plays that will make you go WOW HE IS THE BEST EVER!!!! He will probably make some other plays that will make you go THIS IS THE WORST QB WE HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! I wish him well, and hope he proves the doubters wrong.. until the last game of confidence....GO CATS....And GO Jensen

Who is doubting Jensen on egriz? I haven't notice people doubting him or how he will do.

All I have noticed is that some posters are concerned that Jensen won't immediately be as good as the senior starter who has been playing very well and has developed into a terrific leader. Other posters think the Griz won't miss a beat.

Well said. I'm excited for Gresch and was hoping he'd get the job in fall camp, just didn't want it this way. Now it's his turn, ready or not, and I for one think he is mostly ready to be successful.

In a sense though, your trolling :D . Your baiting the haters to come out with their negative comments. I'm all for it though so Gresch can make them eat their words.

Unlike you though, I hope he is extremely successful come Nov 18th and for the next three mid Nov games for the next four years.

REINELL30 IS BEHIND HIM 100%... I went out on the limb months ago and stated he would be the starter by game Four. I just didn't want it to happen the way it did. He is the next coming of Dave Dickensen! Watch and beware competitors!

He's the first coming of Gresch Jensen!

He doesn't look like a freshman QB to me....about time we got a guy like him back at QB.

My expectations for the season don't change one bit. If we really are going the right direction, I think 9-2 or 10-1 is a realistic expectation.

6'2" and 218 per the TV when I watched the recording. I'd say close to an LB is right!

Watch his highlight film, he played safety (If I remember right) along with QB, he had some tremendous hits on defense. He likes contact.

More snaps he gets, and more games he plays - he's going to just keep getting better. His ceiling potentially is very high. I heard Stitt, at one point, in his press conference today allude to the fact that guys like Jensen & Phillips are what he is looking for. I assume that is in regard to his questionaire that they fill out. He also talked about Justin Dvorek (sic?), his recruit - and former Harlan Trophy winner, DIV 2 POY. I got the impression he believes Jensen's upscale is much higher.

Another cynical way of looking at this, is that I would hope a coach who has spent most of his career coaching D-II would think that most of his D-I qb recruits have a higher ceiling than his D-II players. I know that this isn't what Stitt said.

I'm glad you clarified with this statement, as I know how posters blast you even when you're being a smart ass. This should calm the blasters down...

Uh, no. Expectations like this is why it's so funny to watch you all implode in the game day threads when you lose! If you tempered your expectations a bit you might not be so disappointed if you end up at 7-4? BTW, I adjusted my season predictions based on what I've seen out of Cats and griz so far, and after that ridiculously shitty injury to RP. Initially I had the Cats at 6-5 and the griz at 7-4, but now I'd flip that and I think we go 7-4 and griz end up 6-5. There's just no way you aren't going to see a learning curve with a new QB in Stitt's (too much pressure on the QB) system. There will be head scratchers for sure and yes there will be posters screaming about how "Jensen Sucks!" Starting this Saturday. It's what you do.

That being said, I do think he's going to be a damn good QB for you guys - next year.

The game is won and lost by a team. The QB play is vital, but the whole game and success of the program is not on Jensen's shoulders. He has a lot of help, including the coaching staff. He will do fine. Will the rest of the team show up on game day. Specifically the defense and o-line. Those two show up and you can stick a fork in EWU. Everyone is putting way too much pressure on Jensen and BTW - if there was ever a freshman ready to take the helm - it is him

Agreed 100%. In order of things I'm worried about:

Defensive pressure
DB's and coverage breakdowns
O-Line Protection
QB Play
