Frank Gogola Article

Remember......as Bobby always points out.....those punt returns have less to do with the returner and are mostly because of his special teams coaching wizardry.

That's why lots of NFL teams have offered him 7 figures to coach special teams.
Bobby says the returns work because of Bergen's great ability, terrific blocking by the blockers, and a well-designed scheme. He says that Bergen is like a point guard, who knows where his blockers are and what they are doing. He is patient on his returns. Hauck has never said anything was due to his coaching ability. Never.

It was a complete ass-kicking.
No, it wasn't. Got clobbered but not ass-kicking. 17 first downs each. 363 to 259 TO. 6 punts each. 4-11 3d down conversions for SDSU, and 4-16 for UM. They had 2 turnovers; we had 3. 5 sacks to 1; that was big. Penalties and TOP even. 55 plays for them; 77 for us. Score 23-0.

That is not an ass-kicking.

Not one NFL team ever offered BH to coach special teams.

Complete ass-kicking. The announcer today during the game said it wasn’t even as close as the score.

Let’s $500. I’ll take the cats. The money goes to the Griz NIIL. Marcus is on the site and I’ll message him.
Marcus is on vacation in the sun. We tested a few days ago after lobbed in a decent donation.

When are you paying your bet you lost today, when Cats didn't win by 3 TD's.

By the way, O'Day has no clue who you are. He asked me if you had played QB for Stanford.

Not even close to an ass-kicking. Look at the stats. You probably didn't watch the game.
I was always told to respect my elders, but you and your comments are old and outdated.
I understand that you played in the 1960’s at a high level. You may also be very well connected within the Montana Grizzly football program.

If you want to come after me to talk X and O’s feel free as I will bury you.

The way you boast about your own self worth and the reception that you receive on this board makes me wonder how many people that you know that would even consider crossing a room to piss on you if you were on fire.

I know I have teammates that send me Proverbs 18:18 -24.

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

You could not bury me on anything. Especially related to football. I don't boast about my self-worth. I tease on the board and a surprising number of people fall for it. I am very secure in my life. My comments are usually right and good.

Did somebody else become the ST coach? Who comes up with the scheme?

You played in the 1960’s, I played in the early 2000’s and coached through 2011 in the Big Ten. I am more than certain my football knowledge exceeds your own.
My son is now a sophomore in high school and I have helped his teams in Junior High and High School. I am amazed at how much more they are learning compared to when I played high school football in the late nineties.

Just because you know your coach doesn’t translate to understanding the game as it is today.

Obviously you like to argue and have a lot of extra time on your hands. Obviously you are a very avid fan of Griz football and that is great.

Unless I am missing something where you have consistently coached and spent hours on end breaking down film and making adjustments for your team, than there are others that know more about the game than yourself.

I graduated in the 70’s. I played on a better team than you did. 3 of my kids played sports in college. I went through the recruiting process for football with 2 of them. Coaching junior high doesn’t cut it with me. I and my kids have already accomplished more than you ever will and have or will make more money. I know way more about Griz football than you. I have never claimed to be some incredible football expert, but you don’t appear to know much either. You are a bunch of hot air. I look forward to kicking your ass on the board. Give us your name, and we’ll see if you ever n accomplished anything in football. Or at least give us your supposed school and years, and we’ll look at your team. My friend was once the AD at Minnesota and also played there back in the day. Were you a bench warmer?

Pssst, obvious guy here - nobody cares how much money people make.

Actually, everyone who makes a lot cares, and enjoys it. Women care. Why do you think guys with big wallets often have good-looking women with them. It's a sign of success. It's also nice. People like you are just jealous. College athletic department and colleges sure care about how much money people make and have. Politicians care. Accounting and law firms care. Players hoping to get NIL money care. What a dumb comment by you.

No I was not a bench warmer I played almost every down for 3 years. I did only play about a third of the plays as a freshman.
You can certainly puff out your chest and tell me that coaching junior high is not cutting it. I whole heartedly agree. I stated that I played in the early 2000’s and coached until 2012 in The Big Ten.
After a becoming a father I have pursued other opportunities and then I did help with my son’s team in Junior High and his first years of high school. You tell many a poster that they don’t know the game.
I have stated that the game has and is constantly evolving/changing.
Congrats on that 3 of your kids were able to play college athletics. Furthermore that two of your kids were able to play college football.
I don’t think I stated that you know nothing about the game of football. I have stated that maybe or probably there are people that do more than you do about the game of football.

Your current Griz coach has been very successful in the FCS. What was his record when he coached in the FBS? From what I have found he was 15-49, for a winning % of .234 with the lower level of the big conferences. He does have a very respectable even remarkable winning percentage in the FCS at .771.

I joined this board not too argue with an obvious fan of Griz football, but to see what the Minnesota boy, Gilman, was going to do going forward. I think that it is great in the current state of college football that he is going to stay at Montana.

I also think that if he does have aspirations of playing in the NFL that he may need to transfer for his senior season. His numbers against the better defensive teams in the FCS are not very good, especially when you remove the game against Tennessee State.

Everyone on this board knows that you like to cherry pick statistics and you will continue to do so moving forward.

You also have not refuted the fact that you don’t have any evidence that one single person would ever cross a room to piss on you if you were on fire.

I’m just going to paraphrase your probable response.
“You still have not proven that you no anything about football. I am so damn important within the Griz football community that if my good friend Denny would have not given the money for the stadium myself and my boys would have had the stadium named after us. You know nothing about Griz football.”

My response,
“I do lack knowledge about Griz football compared to yourself, I apologize for thinking that someone who has actually coached college football would know more than someone who is in their 70’s and has never coached football at any level.

The following is without sarcasm:
Gilman has a great chance to establish huge numbers next season as the Griz football team plays 8 home games and they only play two FCS opponents in total that had winning records in the 2024 season. If his production against your rivals and into the playoffs still lacks his usual output I hope he transfers for his senior year. If he has any desire to play on Sundays he will need to be able to perform when he plays against his best opponents.

I don’t think I will ever post on this board again, I wish nothing but success for Gilman and the Griz football team.

A poster/person who always thinks they know more than anyone else is a deterrent.

Merry Christmas to the Griz family and football team.
