Frank Gogola Article

Unless certain big name boosters have had enough of Hauck’s complacency, nothing will change. Nothing. This season was an epic failure. Downright embarrassing. I don’t blame the players. They gave it their all. Something is rotten in Griz land. Appears to be the guy on the sidelines screaming FU at one of his QB’s. A head coach that is leading and motivating young men does not appear to be present. Some of his assistants do have those qualities.

I know and like Bobby. However, his actions on the sideline in front of 25k person stadium on national TV, are inexcusable. Combine that with some of the body language of the players on the sidelines and IMO, that points to the very real possibility that..... "Something is rotten in Griz land." Frank's articles do hurt. He's pointing out facts many don't want to admit and I hope, like others, that coach's actions and Frank's articles don't hurt our recruiting efforts.

Go Griz!

Hauck has no complacency. 9-5 is a disappointment but not a failure nor embarrassing. Nothing is rotten in Griz land.

Body language of players on sidelines? Real funny. Please spare us this nonsense. Again, there is little in the Cat program that this Griz fan wants to be.

I guess I don't understand all the comments that 2024 was a disaster, or even a disappointment.

Over the last 13 seasons, the Griz are a combined 103-52. That is an average of 8-4, right on par with a 9-5 season. It's what the program has been for a long, long time. Not sure why that is so hard to understand.

2024 was not a blip on the radar, 2023 was. Just how it is.

That's not true. This is my understanding. Engstrom panicked. He had been contacted by Williams, whom I believe knew a family of a woman who had claimed some sexual stuff. Engstrom consulted Christian and Stearns. A plan was discussed that didn't involve firing. Williams continued to pressure Engstrom. Engstrom was being fed unverified and incorrect info about some players, all or mostly black athletes, being involved in sexual stuff, and he further panicked and fired the two. In retrospect, I wish Pflu and O'Day had sued Engstrom and the University, and maybe Williams. I think they would have gotten a lot of money. I can understand why they didn't sue. Who needs the hassle, and it's usually better to get on with one's life.
Not what happened. O'Day was told to fire Pflu and he said no. The Commissioner of higher-ed sent both of them packing..

Yep,

That’s the whole point to the article. The 2024 Griz are the Hauck 2.0 Griz.

If fans want something consistently different, something will need to change.

I bet Frank enjoyed writing this article so much. Bobby is such a prick and so disrespectful to everyone in the press room.

Hauck is a very good football coach. His record is inarguable.

With that being said, many feel very good is not good enough.

You don’t have to be sick to get better.

The thing is next year’s soft schedule could mask issues and could make a good season look great.

A schedule like that could keep UM treading water longer than necessary.

I guess that is a small problem I have with the article and some of the comments in this thread. This is all being thrown at Hauck's feet, when the problem started many, many years before his return. The program has been mired in mediocrity for the past 13 years.

He just hasn't been able to "RTD" as promised, and that isn't going to change anytime soon. Just is what it is.
