Fox News Picks the Cats, LOL

Remember when you used to try to be a reasonable poster? Lolz

I am a reasonable poster. I'm just not reasonable to cat fans who make fun of serious football injuries (which in itself shows a level of immaturity below the average 7 year old), particularly when the player that ass is making fun of literally RAN OVER his team the next year.

My crystal ball says MSU and EWU will both have 3 in conference losses next year. EWU and MSU specialize in being unreliable starting strong finishing with a thud.

UM will have 0 in conference losses. Offense wins the day.

   Yeah seeing how the griz lost to Sac. St. and three other close wins. Pretty sure UM won't be better than last year, I'll put money on UM has 3 conference losses! :o :o :o

Lol your such a moron, what the heck are you laughing about? I dont remember the cats even showing up for their ass kicking last year? Your still going to get beat down next year write that down on you tiny forehead that holds that peanut sized brain.

The last comment made it worth reading the rest of the posts where most will be wrong. Very funny wbtfg

Way to early to pick anything. I want to see how well the Cats new OL comes together. Coach Mac seems to always do a good job, but there was a lot of Sr. departures this year. It is good we still have Memory coming back as he is a big mauler. We have quality young OL, but just not a lot with experience.

Remember last year. The Cats and Cat nation were set to win the whole thing and the praises for Ash and his team reached a fever pitch. They had a decent season for sure, but the Griz just took them completely apart and then everyone realized just how much the Griz had progressed, and what superior talent they had.

Cats have a lot coming back and I have no real problem if they are picked, but I think the talent level and our improvement during the season will end up being the difference again. Watch out for EWU... If they can avoid injuries, they will be very, very good!

Eastern opens the season:

@ Idaho
@ Washington State
@ Weber
Montana @ home

That's 0-4 right there.

Then it's

North Dakota @ home
@ Montana State

They could conceivably go 0-6 to start the season. And it doesn't get much easier, with their season being completed by:

Sac State @ home
@ Southern Utah
Cal Poly @ home
UC Davis @ home
@ Portland State

I could see EWU going 4-7 with this schedule. 8-) 8-)

hmm, careful, the last time people were picking someone to start the year 0-4, that team won the bsc went all the way to the semifinals. who was that team? :thumb: we'll go 11-0 in 2012. mark it down.

Co-Champs :)

This certainly will not be the only media outlet that picks State over UM. For that matter I would fully anticipate that EWU may get picked above either in some pre-season polls and publications. Frankly I would not be surprised to see the majority of prognosticators picking someone else other than the Grizzlies to win the Big Sky.

The reason for this is simple. The Grizzlies lose a ton, (literally), of talent in both the offensive and defensive fronts. That is not to say that the replacements aren't going to be good quality players, it is just recognizing the reality of the situation. Unlike last year where the defense virtually carried the team early, this year it will be the offense that has to carry that load until the defense can gel. No matter how you analyze it the 2012 defense will have to build its own chemistry and that is going to take some time. It will be much easier to assimilate 2-3 new offensive linemen in an otherwise fairly intact offense than it will 6-7 and possibly 8 new starters on defense. In addition, the Grizzlies simply will not be as deep as they were last year.

Whether they take the time to research it or not, my guess is that many of the national pundits are going to reach the same conclusion this yahoo does.

We will just have to prove them wrong again!

Your right my bad I am being to much like a pussycat fan.

Look at it from their perspective, they know NOTHING about the conference and simply look at how many players each team has graduated, their 2011 record, and that's about it. On the surface, looking at it like that... most any publication would pick MSU as well.

How do you know know what they know about the conference? Are you a dingleberry hanging on their sphincter? Oh, I forget, you know everything about everything. You and Play-a Rape. How dare any of us to question that fact!

You knuckleheads need to grow up. This is a reporter making prediction. Big deal. You make it seem like he is denigrating the University of Montana because he did not pick them first. His reasoning for picking the Cats first is totally logical.
Is there any thread/topic where you aren't carrying some torch?

Hell, there has to be ONE poster one this board to bring some sensibility to the sucrose that is spewed on here daily. Some of these pin heads act like this reporter stole their blow-up doll for daring to predict that anyone but the Griz would win the conference!

I had to laugh my arse off at the comments made in the assistant coach thread. After it was announced that we hired Rosey and the former Purdue head coach as assistants, the predictables instantly started with the "now we will win a NC"! Uh, last I heard, coaches can not play on Saturdays. It just gets old reading the hyperbole for pedestrian fans who are incapable of objectivity when the topic is UM football.

Not just Fox .. here is another one for you :)

I too will partake in this wagering. We could go with the standard $100, but would definitely consider upping the ante..However, from the last few posts that I have read of yours, I have a feeling that you may be of the welching ilk..

looks like the kittens will do it with a couple less previously projected starters :o

Hmmm. You mean like how we started 2011 out 0-4 and went on to win 6 of the final 7 games, two of them in overtime? If anything, EWU has a history of starting slow and finishing strong. Even in all the recent playoff years (excluding 2010) seems we had to win out with three or so games left in the season to make it, which we did. This is usually due to a very difficult early season schedule, which almost always incudes at least one BCS school.

We won't be favored to win either the Idaho or WSU games, but there's a small chance we could upset Idaho in the Kibbie Dome....maybe 30% or higher. I'm confident we'll we able to move the ball on them, so a turnover here or there and you never know. Either way, a 2-2 start would have to be considered a success after the first 4 games. Griz at home will be tough, as will Weber on the road. We'll have to get at least a split with the Montana Schools to have any kind of a shot, though......same as every year.

Out of curiosity, what about UND makes you think that they'd be favored to beat EWU at home? I'm not seeing it. I could understand picking Weber, maybe, since that one's in Ogden, but I don't think UND will be favored in Cheney. I know you're probably ruffling feathers, but......an 0-6 start with our offense? Not sure I'd make that bet. ;)
