Fox News Picks the Cats, LOL

You knuckleheads need to grow up. This is a reporter making prediction. Big deal. You make it seem like he is denigrating the University of Montana because he did not pick them first. His reasoning for picking the Cats first is totally logical.

Jeez... someone has some sand in their vagina.

Look at it from their perspective, they know NOTHING about the conference and simply look at how many players each team has graduated, their 2011 record, and that's about it. On the surface, looking at it like that... most any publication would pick MSU as well.
I think people are more annoyed with the obvious lack of research than anything. Basically it seems the only reason the cats were picked is because we lost 9 starters on D. But a little research they would find its not nearly as bad as it sounds.

I agree with Growler on this. It's not illogical to pick the Cats over the Griz. We have a lot of holes to fill on defense with the loss of our 3 best corners with little experience and depth coming back. We also lost our starting tackles on offense. Personally I think we still are in better shape than the cats, but I can see an objective person picking the Cats. No reason to be angry.

I agree. But I think the Freshman on defense that we will be relying on will do a lot better, a lot sooner, than most people think (Lebsock, Nate Harris, Ginn, Kidder, Holmes..)

There is nothing wrong with someone picking MSU to win the BSC. Period. The Griz have their work cut out for them. There is a lot to prove, including the proving of a new DC. I believe it will turn out well for the Griz but every year is a new year and this next one comes with its new set of challenges. Besides, it is a lot more fun to pump up the Cats before you saw them off at the knees. Aside from having to listen to one or two notable (and prolific) Cat idiots posters on this board, the only thing that matters is what happened when it is all over and I believe the Griz will be on top as usual.

Remember last year. The Cats and Cat nation were set to win the whole thing and the praises for Ash and his team reached a fever pitch. They had a decent season for sure, but the Griz just took them completely apart and then everyone realized just how much the Griz had progressed, and what superior talent they had.

Cats have a lot coming back and I have no real problem if they are picked, but I think the talent level and our improvement during the season will end up being the difference again. Watch out for EWU... If they can avoid injuries, they will be very, very good!

Eastern opens the season:

@ Idaho
@ Washington State
@ Weber
Montana @ home

That's 0-4 right there.

Then it's

North Dakota @ home
@ Montana State

They could conceivably go 0-6 to start the season. And it doesn't get much easier, with their season being completed by:

Sac State @ home
@ Southern Utah
Cal Poly @ home
UC Davis @ home
@ Portland State

I could see EWU going 4-7 with this schedule. 8-) 8-)

hmm, careful, the last time people were picking someone to start the year 0-4, that team won the bsc went all the way to the semifinals. who was that team? :thumb: we'll go 11-0 in 2012. mark it down.

I don't think 0-6 will happen, but with that schedule 3-3 would be a success, I believe. 0-2 is almost automatic. There is a chance they could knock off one of the two FBS, but the odds aren't high. With that being assumed, 3-3 would mean that they knock off either UM or MSU. If they get them both and end up 4-2 after the first 6, then EWU would be odds on favorite out of the Big Sky to make a deep playoff run.

My crystal ball says MSU and EWU will both have 3 in conference losses next year. EWU and MSU specialize in being unreliable starting strong finishing with a thud.

UM will have 0 in conference losses. Offense wins the day.

   Yeah seeing how the Friz lost to Sac. St. and three other close wins. Pretty sure UM won't be better than last year, I'll put money on UM has 3 conference losses! :o :o :o

F*ck, if I just had money every time a kittie fan predicted that, I'd be able to pay Jeeves to place my sports wagers for me....

most of you guys don't deserve the "y".
