Foster getting death threats

You know those fans have little football knowledge if they are hanging that loss on the kicker. First if you can't get it on fourth and a micron which they didn't a few minutes earlier you don't deserve to win. If you have an earlier made FG called back on a false start, you don't deserve to win. And finally if you (Sabin) don't notice that your kicker is really struggling and yet line him up for a 56 yard try with no cover guys, you don't deserve to win. The minute I saw it was a kick I said it would be blocked for a win (based on the distance and previous block, course I never dreamed the outcome would be what it was).

The regular kicker missed multiple kicks. The wrath was directed at him. The last kick was taken by the back-up kicker who has a longer leg. If you don't have the basic facts correct, maybe you shouldn't post on the subject.

You post all the time without having the basic facts correct, you pompus ass. The primary difference is that at least BG made sense.

Either way, blaming a kicker for one play is to ignore all the miscues during the entire game by every other player and the coaches that led you to that point. And no I didn't realize they had a new kicker in cause I was watching at a bar with poor sound and didnt pick up on his number... BTW PR, did you happen to notice when Auburn "iced" the kicker that THEY switched out to a different return guy (the punt returner not the DB that was originally in when they lined up)? I was watching that. Sabin should have too maybe.

Huh, my facts are almost always correct. Yours aren't, though.

Almost as correct as your command of the English language....

Also, honestly, BG's part about "Saban not noticing his kicker was struggling and still sending him out there" doesn't make sense actually. Because Saban put in a different kicker who he said in the postgame presser "routinely makes 60-yard field goals in practice and has kicked a 67-yard field goal in front of the entire team, and we (Alabama) had the wind at our back the whole fourth quarter".

Agreed, but it apparently make perfect sense to Everett. This is one of 2 reasons I made my post--the other being that the criticism was for the kicker that missed the earlier kicks (and not the long kick).

I've noticed that people who have little or nothing of substance to say, often post about typos on the internet.

you seem to be quite astute. have you noticed anything peculiar about people who post about others who post about typos on the internet?

The odds of making a 57 yarder at that point are fairly low. A big mistake to me was putting the fat assed team in to block and having nobody with speed to tackle.

So why didn't Bama use this amazing prodigy to kick the 20 yarder or whatever it was instead of going for it on 4th Down earlier in the quarter? They used that Foster kid three times to no avail and they have a 67 yard kicker sitting around. Ok.

Exactly what I was sputtering to say. This.

Didn't Foster make one FG earlier only to have it called back because of a false start? Then missed it on the second attempt+ 5 yards. Any focus on that penalty as the game loser ?

The point is no "fan" should make personal attacks on college kids, let alone death threats, for playing mistakes. First of all you can't do what they do. Second your life sucks if you're team winning is all that's keeping you emotionally afloat. Like greenacresgriz and a few other haters on here, these are losers clinging vicariously to a college game.

It got worse: http://espn.go.com/college-football...-alabama-crimson-tide-loss-victim-sister-says

This wacko gunned down another fan who wasn't suffering enough after the loss.

No emoticon can capture the sick feeling this invokes.

Unreal. No words can capture it either...

Love seeing C.J. Mosely's tweet. I actually think it bothers fans when college and pro players stand up for themselves or their teammates after mistakes. Too many fans believe football players are not allowed to be human beings because of things like "tax payer funded scholarships" and "multi-million dollar contracts". The fact is, football players will ALWAYS make human errors. They will miss three kicks in a game, they will fumble, they will take the wrong angle on a tackle, they will get drunk and punch road signs, ect...Anyone who wants to kill them or hope their girlfriend cheats on them because of those things needs professional help.

Safe to say his team has got his back:

How sad that the 21 year old players are far more mature than many of the older fans.

Good for Alabama players. It's great they still understand what college athletics is about, even if we forget sometimes.

Thanks for posting those Brint. It's kind of an open window to how college football players see the actions of jackass fans. I love it, and I love how those types of tweets bother the minority of truly overzealous fans, who actually walk around every day of their lives believing these kids owe them something because they bought a damn ticket to a football game.
