And one final tidbit:

* Newsflash to the NCAA and FCS: IF YOU'RE GOING TO REQUIRE INTERNET ACCESS TO PULL UP YOUR TICKETS, AND SCREENSHOTS WON'T WORK, HOWSABOUT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE INTERNET AVAILABLE AT THE STADIUM?????

Just a thought.

100%. IDK if it was awful for uber-takers afterward, but after seeing how bad the service was around there, I ran to some nearby hotel lobby to order mine.

You should have joined us at a bar right on southwest edge of parking lots. Only steps from stadium, and my pickup. Lots of Griz fans. Talked to Trey Young.

CDA was just making a joke because someone had said that same thing to him when he made his original, very reasonable post. You had done the same, and he was making fun of that other person for saying people are easily annoyed.

I don't say this to be all mansplain-ish, but everybody here thinks really highly of you and I wouldn't want you to think he was actually taking a shot at you.

Yep... I misunderstood his post because I somehow completely missed the previous response. Oops.

My bad, between when I clicked the quote button and when I posted, he had replied. Oopsies on me! :)

The internet appeared to be somewhat carrier-dependent. I had no issues, and could even text photos and small vids. Some of the people with us couldn't get a signal. In either event, it needs to be addressed. Like many of the things at the game, it came across as very amateurish.

My husband and I have T-Mobile and had no problems but my mom, dad and sister all have Verizon and they had virtually no service.

How was Uber after game?

We had no problems getting an Uber. Our only problem was trying to understand the map that Uber gave us of where to meet our ride. We ended up going in the opposite direction of where he was parked. But I'm taking the blame for that one instead of handing my phone to my hubby who is much better at map reading.

Thought the facility was fine. Frisco is AT&T country so friends of mine that had AT&T or T-Mobile their devices worked. My Verizon phone did not work at all, I thought Frisco did a pretty good job hosting the game. I was on endzone and music, PA, and referees sounded ok.

Did J.D. make it; lives in Dallas, doesn't he?

JD and wife were at game. Talked to them a bit. We and a bunch of our greater family had gone to JD's awesome house just minutes from stadium for a big party-BBQ on Sunday. His and her families were there. Among the attendees, Varona, Bergquist, Tru, Swink, B Dot, McCord, Keith Thompson, Paul LeMantia, I know Bergquist called Mariani to come but he hadn't by the time we left, Paul LeMantia, Houston Stockton, Izzo (longtime downtown bartender and now real estate agent), Brittney Lohman's husband, Tyler, some former players I didn't know, some much older Griz, some parents, many Griz fans. I had invited Dane Oliver, Dylan McFarland, Chris Snyder (plays delay on Alaska), and Marty Morninweg, but they weren't there when I left. Rssum around, but not at party. Some former dance team friends. Had invited some former Lady Griz, but they didn't get there. I wanted to invite you and AZ and a few others, but I was band and couldn't get to you. CDA didn't arrive in time. Seamus and Brint didn't get to Frisco. JD's wife is a UM and UVa law school grad, and a big time lawyer. JD told everyone to come over for 7am Mimosa's the next day. I slept in. JD Quinn is one of my favorites. I have always said that if I had a big problem/issue that required some physical response, my first choice would be JD. Great and loyal friend, and as tough as they come.

Here's the nearby bar for next year. Green Gator.

Partied with Scott Poole, Eric Sprunk and Cooper Sprunk, also Corbin Walker's dad before the game. Great guys. Sorry we couldn't connect. I had "personal" issues going on almost all weekend, so it wasn't what I'd hoped it would be. (And no, I wasn't in jail). :D

Dow and Dlouhy were at JD's too.

I missed the Sprunks. Saw Cooper at the Mo Club during the playoffs

Just a thought.

This was a big problem for Verizon users. Couldn't do anything, even pin where our tailgate was. Pain in the ass.

I have Verizon and had no issues at the stadium, or anywhere in the Dallas area...

I found the venue to be meh at best and won’t return if the opportunity arises. I went to Chattanooga twice and found the atmosphere to be a championship like environment. This not so much. Reminded me of state football championship with the guy yelling into the loud speaker, not to mention the missed pronounced names, incorrect down and distance and felt the concessions were similar to Grizzly Dens. My house with friends will serve me just fine.

Bad:
Verizon...horrible service. SOS a lot of the time at Grizfest (couldn't access prepaid tickets) At stadium most messages failed to send and could not use internet at all. Drink line inside the entrance took over 30 minutes. Line to get in stadium was ridiculously long
Good:
seats were actual seats not bleachers and view was good. Thankfully had GSA seats so were affordable and around fellow Griz

IDK what it was with the PA/audio, but it just seemed like the production for a different sport/event. It didn't seem like a CFB game production. NHL with early 2000s shockjock radio sound effects is the best way I can describe it. If there was a roof, I know we'd have seen a laser lightshow, if that makes sense.

The incorrect down and distances drove me crazy. We'd be celebrating getting what we thought was the first down only to realize the scoreboard said something different. And I never understood how we could hear all the stupid games and things just fine but could never hear what the penalties were.

I thought the venue was just okay. Part of my annoyance was the amount of money I had to pay for the tickets (couldn't get GSA tickets). I understand the debate of bigger venue versus full stadium for atmosphere, however using a slightly larger stadium could alleviate some of the demand for tickets which would drive prices down. If the Griz make it back next year I won't be willing to pay as much as I did for tickets this year. Either I get them during the initial sale or I get GSA tickets or I don't go.
