Well they tried to make me throw away my empty Griz nalgene. I may or may not have had a f&$@ it moment and tempted fate. Other than that it was a cool venue. Not thrilled about the traffic and getting around Dallas. I’d prefer a smaller town with some charm where this game is the only show in town.

Here's my take, as someone who LIVES in Texas:
* Frisco reminds me of watching the Truman Show. The whole town just seems "plastic" and fake. I get that it's a "master planned" community, but how about planning in some character?
* The venue was terrific. Unfortunately, the traffic control "efforts" took what could have been REALLY easy and fudge it up beyond belief. The entire West parking area (where ALL the Griz fans were tailgating) had ONE entry point. ONE. I was trying to get to a tailgate at the SOUTH end and had to literally drive through half the parking lot of people tailgating in the middle of the road, getting all pissed off that someone was trying to drive through their tailgate.
* The lines to get in were nonsensical. There was literally NO reason for the delays. Again, they took what could have been really simple and made it super difficult.
* One observation: I was on the East side, so couldn't see how many Griz fans (like myself) were sprinkled in amongst the SDSU fans, but based on my view, it appeared there were MORE SDSU fans than Griz fans at the game--not by a ton, but that was how it appeared.

And one final tidbit:

* Newsflash to the NCAA and FCS: IF YOU'RE GOING TO REQUIRE INTERNET ACCESS TO PULL UP YOUR TICKETS, AND SCREENSHOTS WON'T WORK, HOWSABOUT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE INTERNET AVAILABLE AT THE STADIUM?????

Just a thought.

Why did you think more SDSU fans? I thought more Griz fans. I could see good chunks of Griz fans in sections on your side.

OK, good. Like I said, I couldn't see our side, but on the Griz side there were good chunks of SDSU fans in both of the end sections, as well as the end zone seating...glad to hear we were better represented on the SDSU side...

No complaints. I thought the venue did a nice job (aside from not allowing in sealed bottled water).

Then air connections would suck.

It really is a trade off...But they'd have had 27,000+ in Missoua for that game.   They'd have gotten there somehow!

The stadium was okay but not great IMO. The no lid rule on drinks is ridiculous and not hearing the referee calls was frustrating. WaGriz is way better.

None of the larger venues allow lids or caps on bottles, its a safety issue if someone decides they want to launch it... practice has been in place for many years in both indoor and outdoor facilities. Trust me from experience you don't want to be on the receiving end of an errant toss...at least with the cap off it loses some to the volume and velocity...

I was unaware of this as I don't attend huge concerts or other such events. I sure hope UM doesn't adopt this practice at WaGriz. What a sad commentary on the state of our culture that adults can't be trusted with a freaking full water bottle and a lid. But let's not worry about changing the culture or holding people accountable for bad behavior, let's just take away the lids. That's the ticket!

I stand by my comment that it's ridiculous to take away bottle caps from grown adults.

Unfortunately it's those 10% of grown adults who you see checking their brain at the door and thinking it's acceptable to toss something at a ref or opposing player. For all of us in the 90% category I agree its a ridiculous pain in the a$$. It's a sad state that we have to continue to manage to the lowest common denominator...

None of the major venues in Seattle have that policy. And it's ridiculous, because if for some reason a fan feels the need to throw something, they're going to throw a full 20 oz can of beer. And FWIW, I paid for seat delivery, and the runner opened my bottled water but didn't remove the lid, so even staff at Toyota wasn't consistent.

100%. IDK if it was awful for uber-takers afterward, but after seeing how bad the service was around there, I ran to some nearby hotel lobby to order mine.

The internet appeared to be somewhat carrier-dependent. I had no issues, and could even text photos and small vids. Some of the people with us couldn't get a signal. In either event, it needs to be addressed. Like many of the things at the game, it came across as very amateurish.

Not referring to lids on soda but the Seattle events I attend this past year (Seahawks, Mariners) both had no caps and all canned beer was opened before serving...

They do open beers (sometimes, it's haphazard). But at Mariner, Udub, Kraken, and Sounder games (I haven't attended a Hawks game this year so perhaps it's changed), they do not remove or open water bottles.

Sofi, Dodgers, Angels, Crypto all pop the tops on alcoholic beverages, but I'm told that is so people can't "hoard" them unopened at their seats and accumulate a stockpile. I'm a lot more into water now anyway, and I've never had someone take a cap from me at any of the above.

One new thing I observed, and maybe I'm easily annoyed, is that they had to pour everything into a cup instead of just popping the top and handing people the bottle/can. I bought a buddy a beer, and we waited in line for a pretty long time while they were taking cans, opening them, pouring them into cups, and only then ringing it up. That was a new one for me.

I'm actually not. I happen to have a chronic disease that affects my grip strength and ability to hang on to something like a drink. I was concerned the whole freaking game that I was going to drop my water all over myself because I had no way to close it. But hey carry on making blanket assumptions about people.

Whoa! I know you're not, Mom. Read the first page. I got ripped for being "easily annoyed" for starting the thread. Was trying to make a callback.

CDA was just making a joke because someone had said that same thing to him when he made his original, very reasonable post. You had done the same, and he was making fun of that other person for saying people are easily annoyed.

I don't say this to be all mansplain-ish, but everybody here thinks really highly of you and I wouldn't want you to think he was actually taking a shot at you.

Oops! I totally missed that one. Color me embarrassed.

Yep... I misunderstood his post because I somehow completely missed the previous response. Oops.
