For anyone attending the Portland St Game

My good buddy and UM alum is taking over a closed down and vacant bar right across the street from Providence Park for game day. He is the owner and brewer of Feckin Brews out of Oregon City, OR. He will be giving the vacant bar a new name for the day "The Grizzly Den" and pouring beers. The address is 1981 W Burnside St, Portland, OR. Should be a great Grizzly Hot Spot prior and after the game. He will be prepared as he knows what state we like to be in before a game. Last time I went to PSU, none of the bars were staffed enough and you couldn't get a drink to save your life. Anyways, spread the word.

I'll be there and if I can get my cat brother-in-law to go with me we'll roast him over a hot fire at halftime! :P :P :P

Coming down from Alaska and not familiar with Portland area. How far to game and a close motel?

The stadium is downtown - west of 405; lots of hotels in the area but maybe a bit on the pricey side...

Do you mean from the location of the pop-up "bear den"? If I'm understanding the OP correctly, it's just a few blocks from the stadium (maybe on east Burnside?)

rp, any downtown hotel is relatively close. Better yet, choose one near a light rail station. The stadium has a light rail stop.

If Google maps is correct, it's directly across Burnside from the stadium.

There are quite a few hotels either direction (towards Hillsboro or towards Gresham) along the light rail line to meet a wide range of budgets.

Having our own bar across from the Park will be crazy awesome! (Note that with the number of Griz fans that normally attend these games, you may still not get a drink. There might be thousands trying to get in...)

Add to this that it will be Halloween night and it should be a wild night.

We will be there! We are staying at the Benson. Book soon as it is Halloween night. Should be crazy.

There is soooooo much good beer in Portland.

It's not across Burnside. It's literally right across the street from the north side of Providence Park.

Cool idea, by the way. I'll be there! Go Griz!

Will there be food available?

Brats, Dogs, Wine & Beer will be available for purchase. My buddy owns and operates Feckin Irish Brewery in Oregon City. They are overtaking this currently closed down bar to put this on. Very laid back. He said the TV's are on too for other college football games.
