Five Best College Football Players You've Ever Seen

AllWeatherFan said:
I'd have to put Tony Romo somewhere on the list.

While he had a great season that year winning the Walter Payton award, he did not have a great game against us in Wa-Griz. I remember being very nervous leading up to that game. Our D played very well that day!

Of those seen in person:
Chase
Ochs
Vincent Jackson
Armanti Edwards
Cooper Kupp

Honorable mention:
Jared Allen

Ed Marinaro (Cornell rb, led nation in rushing 2 years, runner-up for Heisman, 1st pick of Vikings, 2 Super Bowls).

Dick Jauron (Yale rb, Lions, Bengals, d-back, NFL coach),

George Starke (Columbia, 13 years in NFL, original Hog for Redskins, 3 Super Bowls).

Calvin Hil (Yale rb, first round pick of Cowboys, NFL rookie of year, several Super Bowls).

Greg Landry (UMass qb, 1st round pick, 14 years, Lions and other teams).

Crazy...who would have know that the Ivy's had the best talent in the country.

He asked football players not report cards

Oops, I goofed up. Thought the subject was "played against". The first one is also the best coach too, i.e. Marty Daniels.

I thought for sure that PR would list himself 5 times and say it was the best practice tape he has ever seen.

How many Heisman finalists and eventual NFL players have you played against?

PR is on a level no one will ever be able to reach, he is Jesus Christ in Cleats.

Pretty Similar:

Moss
DD
Allen

but I'd go:

Trumaine Johnson
Cooper Kupp

Totally forgot, went to the Griz v Oregon game in 2005 and saw Dennis Dixon play. I'd bump Kupp off the list then I suppose and put Dixon in.

Moss was the man against boys, no doubt. Talent like that comes along once in a blue moon. That said, I'm not so sure that Kupp's body of work wasn't better. Caught everything, best route runner I can remember seeing, wasn't the fastest guy on a field ever - yet he seemed to get behind most everyone.

Solid point, Moss just beat guys because he was clearly and physically one of the very best to play to game. He could just out-run / out-jump / out-catch anyone. Kupp didn't have as much physical traits but did just about as much damage thanks to some of the best route running I've ever seen.

Maurice Clarrett yanking the football from that DB after a pick in the "first" (and best?) national chipper could be the coolest college play ever. What a waste

I am just going to list one in each category of players I saw in college
Best Griz: tie Ochs/DD
Best player against Griz: Moss
Best College player watched in person: Emtman - #1 player taken in draft.
Interesting that only Moss had a productive career in NFL

For those of you that listed just griz players in your list, or just Big Sky, or ever just FCS - you need to get out more. Or perhaps I don't understand the category.

The best national chipper was Texas beating USC in the Rose bowl....had hands down the best college players in the nation in Bush and Vince Young..

Came down to the last 1 min....and I'm not saying this as a Longhorns fan

So do you have a list or a complaint? Been fortunate to have been able to take in football all over this country. I skew a lot towards home for just that reason because there ain't nothin like it nowhere.

When my uncle taught @ the naval academy, I got to see Staubach in his Heismann season @ Navy-Marine, and yes, I am that old. He was spectacular but was out early because it was against Bill & Mary. Anybody in a uniform was great to a nine year old Montana kid who was taking in his first non-Griz game in Annapolis.
