Word on the street is a Fish is done.....weird timing if true. This from Twitter:

“Word is that Brian Fish is out at Montana State. Hasn't had a winning season in his tenure there. It's been a tough year personally for Fish but the writing was on the wall coming into the season. Would have taken a huge year to save him. Didn't happen.”

He had two very good players, one a prolific scorer but a dud on defense, while the other is the full package. Harald Frey is a good player and MSU without him would be looking at a far worse record.

It's hard to find anyone who wants to play in a rodeo arena for a program that hasn't made the NCAA tournament since the Clinton administration. The loss of Hall this year is a big deal.

Shows how far 'journalism' has fallen, not that this post is journalism. The internet is what the small town gossips were good for, but their content was much too narrow. Now its a tweet and then quote the tweet. No verification by two independent sources. "Word on the street." Sad. Just looking at his record for three years, Fish would come to the same conclusion. Nothing personal, just business.

Well, they haven't won a tourney game since they beat us in 2009, so odds are they were going to lose their opener regardless... :lol:

I agree with the odd timing plus I think they are playing a lot better basketball now than they were at the beginning of the year. So this does surprise me a little IF the rumor is true.

AZGrizFan - I would be very surprised if they didn't beat Idaho and I certainly would not be surprised if they were to beat Eastern Washington.

With Montana missing Akoh the top 6 teams are pretty balanced as we have seen in the last couple of weeks and IMO anyone of those teams has a chance to win the tournament. I think it will boil down to who has the hot hand, doesn't turn it over and plays the hardest.
