Fire Gregorak

Gregorak was not the REASON our players were not good. If you look at our team we were an OK team. Not a great team because we did not have the players. We were never going to go all the way. We did win some games and we did OK. But we simply did not have the players to take us to the promised land.

Gregorak will coach better next season. Let us all hope we have the studs to be a great team. Meantime back at the recruiting trail ........hope like hell we get some great kids!

The defense seemed adequate up until the EWU game, then.... what is the reason for the defensive lack of performance during the second half of the season?

Better competition. Period.

Make Gregorak the head coach next year.

That would be the worst hire in the HISTORY OF UM! Great guy, but with all the returning talent he had on D he couldn't do crap with it

You and I obviously don't agree. Don't think you follow football close enough to know either.

Breske is shaking his head on the poor defensive performance that the Griz had this year. As to your little condescending comment about "following football close enough" I will simply say I am not a name dropper wanna be insider like you are. You are showing a lot of signs that you took too many shots to the head at Dartmouth. See a Dr.

Dartmouth, they play football?

So the coach is not the reason the players aren't good? Sounds like a pretty sweet job.

Dartmouth, they play football?

Yes they do. It's non-scholarship football but they do play.

My guess is that Gregorak is shaking his head at how weak the WSU defense has been in recent years. Are you going to defend the WSU defense? The WSU defense has sucked in recent years. I don't know why, but Breske has been the DC. You don't follow football closely, and don't know much about the game, judging from your posts. Just because you know some basketball coaches, and knew some football players in college, doesn't make you knowledgeable about football. If you want to continue this discussion, I will be happy to continue the discussion.

Dartmouth, they play football?

Yes they do. It's non-scholarship football but they do play.

The CC coach, Joe Moglia, was the DC at Dartmouth until he went to Merrill Lynch. Jeff Immelt, CEO of GE, played for the Big Green. Reggie Williams played 14 years in the NFL and was all-pro. Hank Paulson, former CEO of Goldman Sachs and Secretary of the Treasury. Jeff Kemp, NFL player and Jack Kemp's son. Dave Shula, NFL player and Don Shula's son. Jay Fielder, NFL qb. Nick Lowery, NFL kicker. Adam Nelson, 3 time Olympic medalist in shot put. Mike Brown, owner of Cinn Bengals. Chip Reese, poker player who won more money playing cash poker than anyone ever (according to his best friend Doyle Brunson). Paul Maclean (Norman's brother).

Maybe Norman was known as Paul's brother. Paul didn't live too long after Dartmouth.

"With all his toughness, Paul graduated from Missoula High School and attended the University of Montana before going to Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.

At Dartmouth, Paul was a member of the football team and several social fraternities. He graduated from Dartmouth in 1929 with a major in English, and according to The Associated Press, he showed "a great adaptability in newspaper work."

Speaking of "social fraternities", Paul and Norman were both in Beta Theta Pi and the senior secret society Sphinx at Dartmouth, as were my brother, nephew and I. Norman was friends with Theodore Geisal, now known as Dr. Seuss, who was a year younger.

WSU lost its bowl game today to Colo St, giving up a big lead. WSU gave up 595 yards, 29 first downs. CSU was 12-23 on 3d down conversions and 3-3 on 4th down conversions. Who's WSU's d-coordinator?

Right on. Breske. A large meltdown as never before seen!

I do think Breske is a good and smart coach and I love Leaches offense. In any event that was a horrible loss from all sides of the ball!

Back to Gregorak. No he is not the smartest young defensive coach in America. He is however a great guy to have on your side. Great attitude and motivates his players like no one else on the Griz side. He is learning the entire job........ And is improving each season. Our missed tackles were the bums but again it is our players. We practiced tackling way to much all season long in my opinion. The "grassers" and "arm tackles" we watched were actually caused by many factors, one of which is really player blame.

One of the ex Griz coaches claims that more strength in grip, fingers, and arms are needed on our team. I tend to agree with him. He feels that is one area of needed improvement. Another area needing improvement is going low. Many of our players are hitting way to high.

Think back when Tim Hauck played, that guy hit low and stopped big guys and small. Hard to teach that type of play and he was a master of it.

Gregorak is in tune with what is going on. We will see a much better system this coming season simply because he has had more experience. Do not forget he is UNDER and old coach and is required to coach the way Mick wants. Ty is coming into his coaching peak and Mick is over the hump, in terms of new ideas etc.

Calm you hind ends down. Meet and visit with Ty and learn for yourself about the guy. I think he is one of the top defensive coaches in our league. We are lucky to have him.
