Those of you who have been following Toure's progress at Nebraska, might agree Nebraska waited too long to right a sinking ship. After the first weekend in NOVEMBER, they FINALLY got rid of non-producing coaches.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Four Husker football assistant coaches have been fired, effective immediately.
It was announced on Monday that the Huskers have parted ways with offensive coordinator/wide receivers Coach Matt Lubick, Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator Greg Austin, Running Backs Coach Ryan Held and Quarterbacks Coach Mario Verduzco are no longer with the program.

16 hours ago — Under a restructured contract, Nebraska head football coach Scott Frost will earn $1 million less in 2022 than his previous deal provided.

Day late and a dollar short. Frost trying to save his butt. I think he is gone at seasons end.

Already announced they’re sticking with him next year but that was probably contingent with him releasing the dead weight.

Just think Lubick is a coach who many Cats fans were pushing to be their HC
More than just us fans. He was flat out offerered. Sat in the offer for a long time before turning it down. He may be kicking himself.

That's the way I read it too.

Sounds like the real strategy by Nebraska was to avoid the $20MM payout to Frost if fired this year. That payout reduces with time, so we'll see how far they go with losing. They seem to have stripped him of normal HC power.
Not a real plan to get talent in to replace the departed that I see, doubt it will be all up to Frost.

You are probably right. Save a million dollars next year, cut the buy out by millions. IF he has a great year in 2022, which I doubt, they can keep him on, otherwise Nebraska is saving a ton of bucks. I would think recruiting would be tough, with him on a yearly basis, so I see a steady, precipitous decline. He hired the fired coaches, so his judgment is suspect.
