i thought Reid Miller was going to be a player at safety ...guess not....a 5th year senior out of the s.e.c. gets beat out by a red shirt freshman.....wow ! we either have some great young players or we missed on recruiting......go griz !

Robby and Reid are both damn good safeties. We're in good shape.

Correct and both will play a ton, just like 2-3 RBs playing a ton, and a slew of WRs playing a ton. At this point being the starter doesn’t mean a ton as the rotations will be plenty.

How about the youth on this team cracking the 2 deep! Lewis, Deming twins, Roberts, Alford, Andersen, and on and on. We are younger than I realized. Scares me a bit but the future is insanely bright!

If we’re playing 5 DBs consistently, we’d BETTER have depth...I agree, Reid will play a lot.

We're 2-deep across the board at DB, IMO. McGinnis is young but remember that kids name, in a few years he's going to be a stud.

I'm really excited to see what Conlan Beaver can do. We all know how important that left tackle spot is protecting the quarterback. I remember watching his hudl tape when he came out of high school and seeing how he played with a mean streak. Very physical and aggressive as the play went down field. Really hope he leads the DOLA charge!

+1 on McGinnis

I love the look of the D other than Buss.
The nickle doesn’t seem like a typical nickel. For one, he starts and also with 2 lbs he’s listed as a slash Sam. Seems like the new position fits Sandry and McGinnis like a glove

Looks like the youngest positions on the 2deep are X, LT, RT, and one of the DE’s. All fr and so. They’re all important but those are some critical positions. Nelson and Neglar gonna have to bring it.

i had thought of his high school tape as well and remember it the same as you do....very scrappy kid with and edge to him, even in high school....we may be just fine at the all important left tackle....with all the youth, there will be growing pains.

+1 on McGinnis

Totally agree. In the three fall practices I attended, McGinnis stood out like a facial pimple on a co-ed. He'll be a stud on defense for sure

Questions? On the “Montana Sports” depth chart no fullbacks are listed. On the Go Griz roster Fa’atuiese is listed as LB.

McGinnis is a guy that will be a force on ST this year. He could be one of those guys that we see go from being a stud at ST and then just rolling into a dominant role starting on defense when their time comes. He needs some experience and another year or so in this system, but there's a lot to like about this kid.

Two main fullbacks are Letexier and Janacaro. Sounds like they have some FB packages but it won’t be a constant.
