2014 Final FCS Polls
The University of Montana Grizzlies were ranked 11th in the nation in the Football Championship Subdivision's final coaches poll, and 13th in the final Sports Network's final poll, those two organizations announced today (Monday, Jan. 12, 2015).
Montana was 9-5 overall and 6-2 (tie, second) in the Big Sky Conference this past season, and earned an at-large berth into the FCS playoffs. The Grizzlies have now advanced to the FCS/Division I-AA playoffs a record 22 times.
The Grizzlies defeated visiting San Diego 52-14 in a first-round FCS playoff game. A week after the victory over USD, Montana played a second-round contest against fourth-ranked Eastern Washington, losing 37-20 to the host Eagles.
The Grizzlies have posted a winning record 28 of the past 29 years, and have won eight or more games in 19 of the past 21 seasons.
