Fill Wa-Griz

Second round games are often smaller crowds for us, but I encourage everyone to do what they can to be in attendance and encourage anyone who may be "on the fence" to go as well. Talk to your neighbors, talk to people at work, encourage them to enjoy what is sure to be a great match-up. Loud crowds don't just happen by accident. Wa-Griz didn't get its reputation by accident. This 2025 team has given us a lot to cheer about, so let's not stop now!

As it gets later in the season and the days get considerably colder, it can be very difficult for the older crowd to get out. My mom for example does not go to playoff games because she just can't stay warm enough. So having said that, I sure hope that the younger crowd jumps on the bandwagon and fills the stadium. I would sure be there if I could.

For us, our worst attended playoff games are the Thanksgiving weekend (around 14k), but then the attendance numbers improve the further into the playoffs we get. I'm guessing that we'll see about 20k this weekend, and the potential for a sellout in the quarters if we get there.

I find it ironic though how much of a difference winning/losing Cat/Griz made. For the Cats, it looks like they're pretty much sold out already (at least on their ticketing site, there are only a handful of seats left in the athletic center end zone), but they still have SRO tickets available.

Compare that to our loss, and the only loss for the season. We got the #3 seed, which is the best we could ask for and by all other metrics, that's a fantastic seeding. But it's interesting how the results of the Brawl kinda put a wet blanket on everything. Had we won that game, I think we'd see this 2nd round game against SDSU be closer to a sellout than it currently is right now. And I think the inverse is possible for the Cats had they been the ones to lose the Brawl.

We wouldn't be playing SDSU if we were the 2nd seed though, would we?

Like most things in life, it's about momentum. Cats have momentum as a program and a university currently. Not saying we don't, but theirs is stronger. I think that if we, as fans, do our part on Saturday and hopefully throughout the quarterfinals, then we can build that momentum during the most important time of the season.

Anyhow, enough about the cats...

Remember when Griz fans made fun of Cat fans for putting too much importance on the Brawl?
Griz fans used to say "they would rather win the Brawl then a NC".
Now a lot of Griz fans are acting the same way crying about the Brawl, bitching about MT recruits, pissing and moaning about enrollment numbers, and completely ignoring the fact that Montana just had one of the most successful regular seasons in History of the program and could make a run to the national championship. Oh Griz got a tough draw in the second round, oh boo hoo they would have to go to Bozeman for the semis, if we made it to Nashville the Bizon and their mean fans will be there.

F*uck that Sh!t and go out and support the team. Maybe the Griz fans have become the whiniest fans in FCS? One last thing future just got even brighter with a damn fine class of recruits that signed today!

I am currently at the space station but Elon said he would send a cab. Am taking the last 14 generations of the family to the game. They don't cheer much but they're out there. And they're not bothered by the cold.

I'm coming on my Challenger. Don't worry. My biggest problem now is trying to give away all the extra Canyon Club tickets I have. Chuck Burton said he was coming. I might be popular downtown on Friday night.
Should be nice, warm and dry in there. I guess us poor folk will be out with the cold wet and rowdy crowd. It is a nice area, and I’m sure in 10-15 years we will probably appreciate that it’s an option.

I so agree. We are not going to Saturday’s game because of the forecast weather. We are 80 years old, and have definitely paid our dues. We have been season ticket holders since returning to Missoula in 1986. I can count the games we have not attended in that time on one hand. Our kids and grandkids will be at the game Saturday, cheering for us as well. If the snow stops and the temperature creeps back into the 40s next weekend, we will probably go to the game on the 13th.
