Fife in the portal

They've shown clear favoritism/believe he is the future so I don't see him leaving. I hope he proves me wrong and nothing against the kid, he plays hard and has heart but he did little to instill confidence as the starting QB or the guy going forward.
Ya know could be Ah Yat leaves, great potential and skills...could be an easy grab by another quality outfit...fresh start.

Well I hope he goes down in the annals of Griz History as the player who had the stones to call Hauck a MoFo in a game situation. Kid obviously has an aptitude for character evaluation.
Just my opinion, bad move for the frustrated QB on the field....bad move on the coach's behavior choice on the field too ...something is up! Takes two to tango!

Wish him well! Good luck to him. Think there’s a very real chance we could see him on an opposing sideline next year.

I do wanna say one thing though. I’m in agreement with everyone here that I think Fife got an unfair shake. There’s no doubt about it, but have you stopped and asked yourself why that is? Could it be because the other QB’s name is Ah Yat? Could be. Is it because the staffs plan was to split reps early and then anoint Ah Yat the full time starter before his concussion knocked him out and then Fife balled out? Could be.

Or, and hear me out on this, could it be because maybe Fife is just kind of an asshole? I think that very well could be. Between the cryptic tweet after the Davis game and the sideline altercation the following week, I think that says a lot about the situation. Whether you agree with what he did or not (and from his perspective I think it’s warranted), the fact is coaches don’t like that shit from players at any level. High school, college, pros, coaches are not gonna tolerate that shit. Plus who knows what things were like behind closed doors. Perhaps there were many more altercations. Maybe there were relationship problems coming into the season. We don’t know.

What I do know is Fife did some things in the public eye that maybe he shouldn’t have done and it likely escalated the situation. Now when I say all of this, I don’t want anyone thinking this is my personal viewpoint, but just a different perspective to view things from when you ponder what went wrong this season.

Logan got screwed and so did we during his time here. I can't say we would have won either the Big Sky or the NC had he started all 12 regular season games this year--too many problems elsewhere, such as O line and the defensive gimmick know as the 3-3-5.

I can say we would have finished the year at least one game better , 9-3 or 10-2, beating either ND, Davis or both, and there is a pretty decent chance yesterday's game is @ WA-GRIZ and not against SDSU and we're playing at least one more Saturday in Dec.

Thanks for the memories, Logan, like Eastern, Weber and PSU, and Godspeed--I will be cheering you on from a distance anywhere you other than Boz Angeles !!!

Three QBs in less than a year have left. One was a finalist for the Payton and the other would have been too if he didn't get hurt. The adults in the room need to take responsibility.

Yes, homegrown and MT Best, and if what you're saying about Ah Yat seems far fetched to some, remember a year beyond Vidlack and McDowell in 2022 was our QB of the future Daniel Britt until he wasn't--entered the portal and was gone !!!

I think Keali'i is back next year, but stranger things have happened !!!

And like GTID said, no one is perfect in the transfer-happy portal era --student athletes or coaches, including Daniel Britt, Sam Vidlak, Clif McDowell, and now, Logan Fife, but we do seem to have somewhat of a QB retention problem !!!

Vidlak got beat out by McDowell last year who was clearly better than him. Cliff last week revealed he left UM because of family health issues. Vidlak was clearly not a good fit in our system and I’m glad he found a system that he could excel in. Your problem is you’re just trying to form a narrative any chance you can get and you’re not thinking intellectually.
