Ferris State Domination: Run or Pass?

I feel the Griz will win this game. Will they win by dominating the run game or the passing game? To me Ferris has a balanced offense and defense. They have a winning attitude/mindset. I believe they think they can win on the road.

I don't feel we will play a balanced offense - running and passing. I feel we will set up a small passing game with a running assault in 1st half. If it works I believe we will continue running into the 2nd half until mop-up time. I think the Griz want to knock the wind out of Ferris' sails early and keep their foot on their throat. The Griz defense will contain the Ferris offense throughout the game. Expect some Ferris trickery during 1st half.

Am I wrong?

Griz will run their schemes. Ferris will run theirs...

Griz special teams will, in fact, dominate Ferris. There are few places where depth is more apparent.

Griz will win. Ferris will impress some Griz fans. Should be fun.

I feel our passing game will be introduced once we have pummeled Ferris in our run game. I don't think our ST will be a major factor in this game. It's "ground and pound" - Bobby Ball.

Can't we for once do something the opposing team ISN'T expecting? My wife knows NOTHING about football and she can usually guess what the Griz are going to run on any particular down (so far this season the play calling has been a surprise, I'll give them that).

It’s a fair question. I think the offense will look very vanilla until conference play and then get opened up a bit more. I expect to see something different against Idaho in particular. These first five games could be fairly mundane when it comes to the offensive playbook. I don’t agree with that and wish the philosophy was more, “they know what we will do on any given play, they just can’t stop us.” I am very concerned Bout our receivers not getting separation. Seems to be a consistent issue and doesn’t make sense to me. They appear to have the speed.

When good FCS teams play up, generally speaking the FBS teams dominate the ground game. This is going to be kinda like that. The Griz will move the ball effectively on the ground and they will not. I don't think we're going to throw a lot except just to get the QB's some reps. They will throw a lot but not effectively against the Griz D. Our depth players will get a lot of reps.

yes exactly.

A lot is being made of the size of their defensive line. I would put forward that our offensive line is pretty athletic, and our run game has gotten more varied in terms of running pulls and moving guys outside the box. We will see if their big guys can keep up with that, too. Being real big cuts both ways.
