Female Ref Was Worst Ever

The red-haired female ref was the worst I've ever seen in college or high school basketball. She made 8 or 10 horrible calls (all of which went against UM), and missed several other obvious calls right in front of her. She probably made some bad calls against PSU, but I was so happy to get a call that I didn't notice.

I have never seen a ref get booed and yelled at more. She was booed at 3 or 4 timeouts.

Eventually, when she blew her whistle, the other refs ran into the situation several times and made the call before--presumably before she could make the wrong call.

Everyone was talking about her after the game, especially those milling around the court.

She should retire immediately.

I don't know if she was the worst I have ever seen, but she is making an all out effort to be so. She was horrible, and the other two were not a lot better. The point guard for PSU was not fouled on either of the 3 point shots. The first was obvious, the second one the point guard kicked her feet out to make contact, and the red head took the bait.

To say she was the worst ever is a bit of an overstatement. She was horrible, but I have seen probably a dozen worse. In fact, two weeks ago in Tucson, watching U of A/USC, the reffing was incredibly worse. And the booing was loud enough to make you want to cover your ears. And 90% of the calls went against the Cats. As for last night, the bad calls went both ways, but I would say 70/30 towards the Griz. Oh well, I doubt she will be back tonight. Go LG!

You are all talking about Darla Foutz, and I agree that she is not a very good ref at all. In the ISU/EWU game in Cheney...she let an Eagle's player get away with a blind screen that included a locked, double-forearm shiver that made an ISU player go down like she'd been clotheslined by Ray Lewis of the Ravens. Her feet went flying up in the air, and she hit the floor hard, back of her head first. Foutz was standing not 10 feet away, watching the whole play. No whistle. I think Coach Newlee saw his whole career pass before his eyes and had to wonder if it was worth what he was considering at the time. Her best games are when she swallows the whistle...and I've never seen that happen. Penny Davis was the female ref with the ponytail...Jeneane Pence was the sharp-featured blonde, and for my money is one of the best refs the BSC has access to. The short, "thick" ref that sat at the table most of the time as the alternate was also in the best place for her. If you get her and Foutz on the floor at the same time, it's a recipe for disaster.

The androgynous blonde person had those in my seating area wondering? The gender guessing was split about 50/50.
