havent heard much lately about the Fehr brothers out of CORVALLIS. has anyone heard if either has signed with any schools i did hear TREVOR had interest out of Idaho but dont know if it was NAIA or BIG SKY

I have followed the Fehr's a bit - Collin Fehr a 6'4" shooting guard had talks with Wayne Tinkle about walking on with the Griz, don't know the status of that. Nate Larsen at Montana Tech is also pursuing him. Another wrinkle to Collin's scenario is that he is a fabulous tennis player (Corvallis just won the State A crown) & Kris Nord of the Griz is also interested in him. Southern Virginia also wants him for either sport.
Trevor Fehr, a 6'9" power forward has been courted by numerous junior colleges & at one point had interest from the U of Great Falls. He is also a good tennis player and last I heard was close to signing with Southern Virginia. He has the reputation of being a very hard worker, has solid academics, and would be one of those kids that could be developed into a good player with a program that would give him a shot.
Hopefully something good happens for these kids as I believe they will do the state of Montana proud wherever they end up.

Collin is a good basketball player, but definately not a div 1 player. he would be a good frontier player. he doesn't have the quicks to keep up with the div 1 players. Trevor is an average ball player. the only thing he has going is his height. The virginia school is a good mormon school and trevor would do well there.

I think the best Collin Fehr would be is just an average walk-on for the Griz should he decide to play basketball.

I heard that Collin Fehr will visit Montana Tech this week to visit with the basketball coaches. I am sure he would do fine in the Frontier Conferance if given the opportunity.
Kris Nord seems to have a high preferance for foreign players......the same situation exists for the Cats in Bozeman. Hopefully these programs don't wonder why there is virtually zero interest from the public in tennis.......Fehr is the first legitimate possibilty to play tennis in a long while. Once again, none of us at e-griz can really speculate how these kids will turn out, but the Griz are LONG overdue to give a Montana kid a shot at tennis.
The same goes for basketball - both Mike Warhank and Kevin Criswell were told they had no shot at D-1. Once again, we can only speculate how these kids will do. Where ever any of the Montana kids out there end up, I wish them only the very best for success in their endeavors. Go Griz!

Coach Nord has been able to recruit some good foreign prospects, however, should a Montana player have talent, I'm certain that he will recruit him. We have few quality high school players each year and those that have talent usually choose a college in a conference that competes at a higher level of tennis than the Big Sky.

I have heard from a reliable source that Collin Fehr is going to sign with Montana Tech. Seems like a good fit for him and I look forward to following his progress at the college level.

I just heard it is a fact that he did sign with Tech. Guess Nate Larson felt this kid can play. On the personal side i wish he would have walked on with the Griz but a full ride sure pays that tuition. Go Diggers. I hope his brother gets a shot somewhere in state.
