Don’t expect to see much change in tomorrow’s STATS.com poll, except down near the bottom. Higher ranked team either won, or lost to FBS opponents. In fact, the way Samford hung with Florida State until right near the end, could actually help them. Might see them bumped over Wofford, which won big … but over pathetic VMI.
I don’t think NAU will drop a lot, since they kept it close against EWU (#6).
But I do think New Hampshire (0-2) will drop out of the top-25. We now know that Maine (UNH’s first loss) is really good, but losing at home to Colgate looks really bad. Still, the pollsters seem to be back to loving the CAA, so the Wildcats might squeak in.
At #25, Furman (0-2) was just hanging on, so they too will surely drop out of the top-25.
If both UNH and Furman do drop out, that would leave two “slots” to fill in the top-25. One of those should be UC-Davis, which won handily and was just barely out in last week’s voting. That would give the Big Sky another team in the top-25. Delaware clobbered Lafayette, so I would expect them to “replace” New Hampshire.
