FCS - Visitor Recommendations?

Hey all, SEMO fan here making the trip up for the FCS playoff game this weekend. Really excited to visit the ‘Mecca of FCS Football’!

Any tips or recommendations for the trip? Eateries, watering holes, pregame tailgating? Other things to be sure to see, do, or experience while in town?

Actually arriving in town on Thursday, so any recommendations for places that would be open on Thanksgiving to grab a bite and some brews and watch some football games would be greatly appreciated… but I realize that one may not quite be so easy on the holiday!

Pack a lot of layers, only supposed to be 30 degrees, but it can change at a moment's notice.

Turkey Day night will probably be pretty grim for eating and drinking out.

Where are you staying? If downtown, you have lots of choices within walking distance. Stocks, Reds, MO Club mentioned above are fun/dive/college bars that you will have fun and be treated great as visitors. Wear your SEMO gear and likely not pay for a drink.

Lots of good food choices downtown as well. From fancy steak (1889 and Depot) to nicer bars and food.

Welcome anywhere and at any tailgate. Glad you are making the trip just sorry you won't get to see the "Mecca", holiday weekend, students gone, last weekend of hunting season, you will probably get a half empty stadium but enjoy, travel safe and good luck!
