Couple monutes into the second quarter and UAB-Jack State scoreless but it's a really clean game thus far. Actually, pretty good for the first game of the year.

Well ... there have been 8 penalties so far, but all pretty minor. So I agree that it's not at all bad for a first game.

JSU played their last game about 3 months ago so I would expect they will be mid season sharp within a game or two.

For as big as Jack State is, they look pretty small compared to UAB.

JSUs first punt looked to pin UAB on their goalline, with five players surrounding the ball. Last guy came from behind and took 'em all down. Touchback. Like picking up a spare in bowling. It went downhill from there.

SDSU got quick fix:

So far, so good. The #2 vote getter (by just 2 votes) paid off. One of my picks ... I actually thought EWU would win more easily than they did.

Next up: SDSU at Colorado State, 7:00 pm tonight, broadcast on FS1 (219 on DirecTV).

Well, we all expected SDSU to win, but not quite so decisively. Oddly enough, the total yards of offense were very close: 466 for SDSU, 462 for CSU. Here's a switch: At the end of the 3rd quarter, SDSU led 35-10. The Jacks' must have started putting in the subs, because the Rams won the 4th quarter, 13-7.

Or CSU started to wake up too late.

100 selected EWU and SDSU, out of 118 total picks. I was spot on the money, just out of respect for both teams. Hardly Lee Corso picks. BTW, College Game day is on and Corso is about to make his pick.
