FCS STATS Poll (Sept 23) - Griz #18

The top 5 are pretty solid, from there to about SELA things are pretty much in flux and will shake out over the next 3-4 weeks.

not saying I expect this but um could go 2-2 over the next 4 games and still have at least 1 win over a ranked team.
@ UCD - UCD probably wins in their house but may have a NDSU hangover
vs ISU - um should win at home
@ SAC - dangerous team, would not surprise me if um loses this one on the road
vs EWU - it will take 60+ points to win this but it at home and I think um ends EWU's playoffs hopes.

I agree with most of this with the exception of EWU. They have a high powered offense for sure but I don’t see us needing 60+.

Like to see how they do playing Oregon in Eugene! Bet the game comes out like a Nevada score! I still think we’re highly underrated! Can’t wait for the coming weeks, so the Griz can prove it!

To me, it has to do with where the teams started at the end of last year and the beginning of this year’s polls! That’s why I hate polls! There were so many questions on the Griz’ team at the beginning of the year, but I think they’ve been answered! Also based on team reputation in the past and eastern writers (total bias by them)! If you go off of wins and losses just for this year-as well as schedules-the Griz should be in the top 10-at very least! I seriously see the this team going into UCD and winning! What they did to the first string Oregon offense throughout the game, and especially in the second half- proved how strong they were! They’re going against a really good UCD team this week, it will show that they belong up there this week! I think the BSC is very strong this year, but to hold Oregon to 35 points, after Oregon lost on a play at the end of the game to Auburn, shows how strong this team really is. Bobby will have this team fired up! I believe they have the discipline, focus, and swagger to go into Davis and come out with a victory! I also think, with Stick gone from UNDSU, that the rest of the FCS has caught up them this year! There are a lot of teams that will give Fargo University a run this year, including JMU, Weber, SDSU, The Griz, among others(no way am I mentioning the overrated Cats)! Can’t wait til Saturday! Go Griz!!!!!

Like others have said, the poll voters probably are a little wary with the Griz and are waiting to see if the Griz pass the eye test. If the Griz win this weekend against UC Davis, then we will most likely see the Griz get a big jump in the polls. And honestly, you can't really blame the poll voters for thinking that way since the Griz have struggled the last decade to be consistent. But this year certainly feels different, and if the Griz beat Davis (I think we will), then it's safe to say the Griz are well on their way back to their old form.

This goes to my point I was trying to make earlier. No matter how iffy the poll is, no matter how overrated the cats always are, it does the Griz good to have our opponents ranked as high as possible at the time we kick their ass. So yes, by all means, win little brother, win, until that day of reckoning cometh.
