griz are gonna play with a big F@*kin chip on their shoulder this saturday and climb this chart! Lets F@*kin go GRIZZZ AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Some very interesting movement in this poll compared to last week. With two spots opened in the top-10, I thought EWU would move up more. Fordham was not ranked, but they were getting a lot of votes and seemed very well regarded -- yet the Eags went in there and kicked butt (56-21, in case you missed the score). Reward: They moved up one spot.

The Citadel did win its game against East Tennessee State, but only by 6 points … and ETSU is one of the weakest teams in FCS (211 out of 255 re Sagarin.) Yet The Citadel jumped three spots to pass EWU. What’s up with that?

Wofford was idle, and still moved up one.

None of the other moves were much of a surprise. New Hampshire went on the road to play (then) unranked Holy Cross and got pounded 51-26. I thought they might drop even more than they did. Same way with North Dakota. They lost to a ranked (#23) team, but they truly got their a** kicked (45-7), so I thought they might drop quite a bit more.

Only proves that the polls are "for entertainment only" (like the horoscopes) and should not be taken too seriously ... certainly not this early in the season.

No Big Sky schools in top 10...that is a rarity

But do any really deserve it at this point? I'd say prob not.

I have seen Wofford, Citadel, and Charleston South...How they rate as high as they do is a mystery to me.

I'm with ya on those three (and we too have seen some of their games).

Wofford has struggled, with two close games against mediocre to weak opposition. Not sure what their problem is, but they need to get their act together. Still, their next two games (Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian) don’t seem too tough.

The Citadel is 3-0, but had one of the weakest opening schedule you can image: Newberry (D-II), Presbyterian, and ETSU. Gimme a break!

As for Charleston Southern (enough points to just miss the top-25) … well, their first loss was to FBS Mississippi State (49-0), but then to lose at Elon :o . Elon hasn’t had a winning season since 2010 (6-5) and are 7-27 over the last three years.

I dont see any explanation for The Citadel. Wofford benefited from ND being overrated.
