Damn, I'm good! (Or at least damn lucky  )

Right on with my guess with the Griz at #19 ... haven't really checked my other guesses, but somewhat surprised that UNI stayed in the top-25.

:thumb: thinking UNI gets props only based on prior years, but if they get ranked it certainly helps us

Good for ND. They looked impressive. I don't see us getting a W there.

At this point, I am chalking up ND and UC Davis as losses. At this point, it looks like at best Griz Finish 8-3 more likely 7-4 or 6-5 (Sacremento matches up well against the Griz and that one is a toss up maybe Sac St the slight edge, and we all know the history with Cal Poly) and sitting at home again unless they suddenly get it together.

Well, I did make a few other good guesses besides the one for the Griz. Maine and Stony Brook moved up, and Villanova down, exactly as much as I predicted. And many of the top-20 guesses were right within one or two spots. But there were a few interesting take-aways here and there.

First, the pollsters were kinder to the Eags than I expected. I did figure EWU would stay in the top-10, but they didn’t move at all, despite getting buried by 35 points. I suppose they think well of Washington State, even though Wazzou is not ranked, and hasn’t been for a long time.

As I said above, I was (somewhat) surprised that UNI stayed in the top-25 (barely). Obviously, the pollsters figure losses to a very good Iowa team and to the Griz (both on the road) were not enough to drop them out of the rankings. As you note, that’s actually a good sign for UM.

Instead of UNI, the pollsters dropped South Dakota, which lost on the road to #11 Weber State. That was not a huge surprise: USD was only ranked #22, but it’s probably not a good sign for WSU.

The pollsters were apparently not impressed by Delaware’s win against Cornell -- not enough to move them into the top-25 anyway. They moved North Dakota up instead, and you can hardly quarrel with that. UND may have had a squeaker win (24-23), but it was against a highly ranked team (#5 Sam Houston State). The voters did drop SHSU about as much as I expected.

Another surprise for me was how far up the pollsters bounced McNeese … all the way into the top-10 (six spots). Sure, they beat #13 Nicholls, but they were at home and won by only 10 points. (You’ll notice that Nicholls dropped five spots.)

If SAC upsets the Griz this weekend, they will likely be ranked and UM will not. As a long-suffering Hornet, that would blow my f-ing mind.

If the Griz go down I don’t believe it an upset. We are getting early season props in polls. Decades of fanship on my part tells me that this team remains a big work in process. Got a lot of talent but assembling a cohesive approach that goes a full 60 remains an elusive goal.

Expect an entertaining Saturday in Missoula.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. So far MT biggest weakness has been against the pass. Sac St has the most talented group of WR the Griz will see except for UC Davis. You match up well against MT this year. I actually kind of expect a tight back and forth game. Of course, you are in WA GRIZ so there is that.

Never been to WaGriz, but look forward to flying out there with my boy one day when he’s a little older! I think SAC is 0-11 there all time.

I saw a new cooking spray at Cabelas this weekend. 100 percent duck fat. It just might work.
