As expected, there was no change at the top of the poll. The pollsters dropped Illinois State a bit more than I expected after their loss to unranked Youngstown State. Southern Illinois also dropped a bit more than I expected after a loss to a higher-ranked team. The pollsters punished Abilene Christian just what I expected after their loss to unranked (and pathetic) Southern Utah. Also as expected, Idaho dropped out of the top-25.

2 points less than last week, scats 8 points less

SDSU 10 points less
Tarleton 11 points more and Davis was a big mover 72 points more.
 
Gonna be an interesting weekend with NDSU and SDSU playing. If SDSU wins a close one, they'll likely just swap places with NDSU at 1 and 2 respectively.

If SDSU loses, I expect them to drop maybe a spot or possibly two. I'd have to imagine that the committee would not keep a 1 loss team ranked higher than both 8-0 Tarleton and Montana at this point of the season (assuming both Tarleton and Montana win this weekend).

Six 3-loss teams by my count, but in general, I disagree with the assessment that this is too many in the top 25. All of them have at least one FBS loss, one has an FBS win, a lot to break down, but I agree with the voting in general. I did not agree when the field expanded to 20 and 24, it was just all about the money.
 
Who really cares after the top 5, maybe 6. Just as Spletz wrote, the fcs has come down to a predictable few teams from two conferences vying for the Natty.
 
As I noted at the start, the pollsters dropped Illinois State and Southern Illinois two or three spots more than I had guessed. On the other hand, I am amazed that I nailed how much they would punish Abilene Christian.

But the pollsters fooled me some more with how they handled Abilene Christian dropping so far. I had Northern Arizona moving up a spot, but the pollsters actually dropped them one. They punished another Idle team, Austin Peay, even more. I had the Governors moving up one, but they barely hung on in the top-25.

Then East Coast bias really kicked in: The pollsters jumped Harvard four spots after their win over pitiful Merrimack (3-5, with one of those wins over a D-II opponent). C’mon!

The other surprise shouldn’t have been. I had SE Louisiana moving up to fill the spot left by Idaho (which, as I predicted, did not receive any votes). Instead, the pollsters moved Youngstown State in as a reward for winning at #10 Illinois State. My bad!

I watched some Tarleton St games. They have dudes. Tough to judge them based on competition but they certainly look the part from a size and speed perspective.
