Me too.

Took me a bit to get my head around this week’s poll. But SDSU was one of three big exceptions in my poll guesses (one of which I kinda called). I guessed that they would drop to #6, but the counter-prediction that they would stay the same was right on. Should have tweaked my guess.

Still, I did pretty well. Being within ±1 in my prediction is fine, as far as I’m concerned. I’m not disappointed that the Griz “only” moved up to #14 rather than my guessed #13. With that as a criteria, I actually got 19 of the 25 either right on or within one spot. (And I was off by only two spots on three others.)

I also predicted that Maine would get hammered after losing (badly) to Yale. They did … but the pollsters were much harsher than I expected. I figured Maine would drop to #21, but the pollsters just barely kept them in the top-25.

My third miss was mitigated (for me ) by the fact that I suggested that the pollsters might drop Chattanooga out of the top-25 and replace them with Missouri State … which they did. Should have gone with my gut on that one.
